COME AND GET IT!!

Dinner time at the Xavier Institute was an interesting experience at best. Tonight was no exception as the students ate, the adults also gathered around the table for a meal that was always an experience in and of itself.

The food was always good, and the people...

...The people here were family, even if it wasn't by blood.

Dinner time.

wolverine, dazzler, nightcrawler, cyclops, psylocke, gambit, husk, scarlet witch, angel, nocturne, iceman, jubilee, polaris, quicksilver, beast, colossus, mimic, shatterstar

It was dinner time and Lorna was passed out on her bed. Well, partly asleep and partly passed out. She had been working on some of the wedding planning when she had simply gotten too hungry to eat.

Promise or not, she might end up sleeping through dinner despite giving Bobby her word.

She might, if there weren't a loud banging on her door.

She opened her eyes and her head was pounding. "Oh crap..." she said holding her head, it felt like her skull was about to break open. She went to her door and opened it, oh yeah, dinner.

"What time is it?" she didn't sound all there.

"Time to eat, sweet cheeks. C'mon, everyone is waiting on you."

Remy figured since he was back, he might as well be sociable, and dinnertime was probably the best time to do just that. As dysfunctional as they all could be, they were still a family of sorts. Besides, he was hungry.

Betsy was already there at dinner, dressed casually in a pair of tight-fitting jeans and a sleeveless, Asian-inspired t-shirt.

She offered Gambit a friendly smile as he arrived.

She'd already polished off most of her plate.

Remy grins back as he sits down. He's dressed in his usual.

"so, uh... whats been goin' on since I been gone? What'd I miss?"

Betsy leans over a little to him, a small, sexy, flirty smile on her face.

"Same old same old. Not much has changed. Lorna's getting married, though. To Alex."

Dinner with a huge group wasn't on his schedule, but Logan had been out of the loop for awhile. He filled a plate from the grill out back, flame kissed meat, and a couple of long necks on his way through the kitchen. He found a seat and settled back to watch.

Shatterstar was at this meal because he had been told to be there. There might have been an 'or else' somewhere. Possibly implied with Sam. He had a plate filled with requisite food.

His eyes scanned the people at the table. He was not one for conversation so finding a place to sit was of importance. A place where he would not end up next to someone like Tabitha.

His eyes widened slightly at the sight of Lord Wolverine. An opportune place to sit. The vids had never shown him to be talkative. So, Shatterstar seated himself beside him.

Logan paused with his beer halfway to his mouth to eye the kid. He nodded once to be polite and carried on with his dinner.

Shatterstar caught the nod and gave one in return. It was shaping up to be the right choice. Not a word was being spoken. The Mojoworlder would have smiled if he hadn't been busy chewing.

Peter Rasputin stands in the doorway.

"Does anyone know what is on the menu this evening?"

"I dunno, Pete," Alison answered as she edged around him with a smile. "Gotta go in and look, I suppose."

And so she did. "Oooh, looks like a roast of some kind. Fortunately for everyone involved, I didn't cook." She hummed to herself as she dished up a plate.

"I must say I'd like to know what exactly has been roasted before partaking." He does pick up a plate though.

"It feels a lifetime since I've seen you, Alison. How have you been?"

"Picky picky," she teased as she took her seat. She smiled and waved to the assembled folks she knew. Logan was looking his cheerful self as always. And there was her other Mojoworlder.

"It's been ages, Pete. I'm doing alright. Had a bit of a scuffle in town, but nothing too serious. How have things been with you?"

Paige had decided she didn't have time to go! The pretest was going to be on SATURDAY and she wasn't prepared for it. Never mind she went over the book that went over the test at the least six times. Never mind the fact she dreamed the pages of her text book. Dinner would be too long and too much and she was more than likely going to be fretting the whole time. She firmly planted herself in her desk and nothing was going to make her go.

Jubilee, with her usual disregard for Paige's privacy, barely knocked before she opened the door and waltzed in. "Hey Paige, y'know it's time to eat, right?"

"There will be left overs." Paige said, not quite looking up. But this was more due to guilt rather than shame. Gosh, it was a while since she hung out with Jubilee. She'd been busy but... "I'm okay, honest." She looked up and smiled at her friend.

Arms crossed, eyebrows raised, Jubes didn't budge. "Don't make me tell Sean you're skipping meals to study again. Or your mom, I guess. Food-time is now-time." Jubilee was here because she wanted to eat with Paige. Bond, or whatever. It'd been a while.
