Dinner time at the Xavier Institute was an interesting experience at best. Tonight was no exception as the students ate, the adults also gathered around the table for a meal that was always an experience in and of itself.

The food was always good, and the people...

...The people here were family, even if it wasn't by blood.

Paige had decided she didn't have time to go! The pretest was going to be on SATURDAY and she wasn't prepared for it. Never mind she went over the book that went over the test at the least six times. Never mind the fact she dreamed the pages of her text book. Dinner would be too long and too much and she was more than likely going to be fretting the whole time. She firmly planted herself in her desk and nothing was going to make her go.

Jubilee, with her usual disregard for Paige's privacy, barely knocked before she opened the door and waltzed in. "Hey Paige, y'know it's time to eat, right?"

"There will be left overs." Paige said, not quite looking up. But this was more due to guilt rather than shame. Gosh, it was a while since she hung out with Jubilee. She'd been busy but... "I'm okay, honest." She looked up and smiled at her friend.

Arms crossed, eyebrows raised, Jubes didn't budge. "Don't make me tell Sean you're skipping meals to study again. Or your mom, I guess. Food-time is now-time." Jubilee was here because she wanted to eat with Paige. Bond, or whatever. It'd been a while.

Paige looked down at her text book. "You wouldn't get Mr. Cassidey, if he's at the table already and-" Paige paused, looking up. "My mother?"

"Ooooh, got ya there! C'mon. Foooood. Before I go track down the Guthrie clan and sick 'em on ya." She'd do it, too. The grin on her face said she would.

Paige turned around in her seat. Both of her legs were out from under the desk. That was a massive undertaking for Ms. Paige Guthrie to make in the recent month or two. "You wouldn't dare." Jubilee wouldn't, would she?

"Wouldn't I? Just watch me." She started toward the door, grinning her evil grin.

"You don't know where she's at right now!" Paige was getting out of her seat, heading to cut off her former roommate.

"Wanna bet I can find out?" She sped up a little, taking the last few steps to the door.

"Might as well eat with me now, and not risk the Wrath of The Mom."

Paige followed after her, the text books and the doom of a Test forgotten and replaced by the doom of a Mom. "You know how she would react, Lee? Don't you have any idea or compassion." Her blonde bit her lip and gave her best puppy dog eyes.

"Nope. The students killed it. I wonder what they're serving." She started out toward the dining hall. Hopefully Paige would just surrender and follow.

Paige snorted, chewing her lower lip. Her door was closed. One of her brat siblings were going to crawl into her room and steal her things, again. Least she had the second drawer locked. She followed Jubilee. "You never had any to begin with." Paige huffed.

"Oh, I did so! I was totally Jubilation Compassionate Lee. It's just such a horrible middle name I had to change it." She lied. But pain of death would not get her to admit her real middle name.

"It was burned away in Australia, didn't it?" Paige sighed, half running to catch up with her friend. "I thought your middle name with Ethel, anyway." The blonde teased. She did give a look over her shoulder at her room. She'll sic her siblings on Jubilee's room if Lewis and Lucy get in it.

"Nooooo. That was the one we gave Penny. Since she didn't have a last name." Jubilee didn't keep anything in her room that she wouldn't want students - or Bobby - to find. Far too likely one or the other would barge in and snoop at some point.
