Dinner time at the Xavier Institute was an interesting experience at best. Tonight was no exception as the students ate, the adults also gathered around the table for a meal that was always an experience in and of itself.

The food was always good, and the people...

...The people here were family, even if it wasn't by blood.

It was dinner time and Lorna was passed out on her bed. Well, partly asleep and partly passed out. She had been working on some of the wedding planning when she had simply gotten too hungry to eat.

Promise or not, she might end up sleeping through dinner despite giving Bobby her word.

She might, if there weren't a loud banging on her door.

She opened her eyes and her head was pounding. "Oh crap..." she said holding her head, it felt like her skull was about to break open. She went to her door and opened it, oh yeah, dinner.

"What time is it?" she didn't sound all there.

"Time to eat, sweet cheeks. C'mon, everyone is waiting on you."

"What...? Oh..." Oh crap. She had agreed to that, hadn't she. "I don't suppose feeling like crud will get me off the hook, will it?"

"Considering that you feel like crud probably because you haven't been eating much? No."

If he needed to pick her up and carry her to the dinner table, he would so do it.

"I have been eating, but whatever," Lorna said yawning and stepping out of the door. "After you," she said stretching. She would rather be sleeping.

"Ladies first. I insist."

It easier to keep an eye on her if she were in front of him.

"I don't even know why I agreed to this," Lorna muttered starting down towards the kitchen, still not totally awake and supporting herself on the wall.

He put a friendly arm around her, giving her something else to lean on.

"Because it was the least worst option."

And since it was a friendly arm it wasn't batted away. Yet. She was so out of it at the moment, "Least worst option? Is it just me or did your English take a nose dive?"

"It's just you. My grammar is impeccable."

"Ah. Nice to know I'm going insane then," Lorna said simply. Least worst option, what was the other option?

She couldn't remember. She needed another nap.

"How much do I have to bribe you to get me to just take a plate up to my room?"
