The Echolls Estate - Thanksgiving Day

Veronica and Piper showed up at Logan's house early on Thursday morning and promptly took over the kitchen to prepare the massive Thanksgiving feast they had planned.

"I know, right," Veronica was grinning. "This entire place is huge. I'm so glad Logan let us use it. It's way easier than cramming everyone into our place."

Veronica laughed. "Maybe Logan would be willing to let you come over and fondle his electrical appliances some time."

Piper nearly choked on the coffee she was drinking. She had no words.

"What?" Veronica asked in her most innocent voice.

"Don't even pretend to be innocent," Piper said, though now she was giggling.

"I'm totally innocent," Veronica insisted.

"I can't imagine why," Veronica said, setting her coffee mug down.

"Okay - so. First things first. We need to get the turkeys in the oven. Good thing we picked up that extra breast."

Piper nodded, heading over to the oven. "I really love this time of year."

"So do I," Veronica said, trying hard not to think about the holidays last year.

"You okay?" Piper asked as she placed one of the turkeys in the oven.

Veronica shrugged. "Just missing Cameron a little," she admitted. "I'm not sure if being cut off is better or worse than a breakup. On one hand, I can assume that wherever and whenever he is, he still loves me. But on the other hand, I have no idea where and when he is or if he's okay."

"I'm sorry," Piper said quietly. "It's okay to miss him."

"I know. I just... I hope that wherever he is and whatever he's doing, he's happy," Veronica said. "Because I'm surrounded by people who love me and I know I have a lot to be thankful for."
