Veronica was hanging out in her room, going over all the notes she had gathered thus far in the case she was investigating. She probably should have been studying for finals, but with the reports of another rape on campus, she figured the investigating took precedence.

Her conversation with Walter in the cafeteria hadn't changed her mind on things at all, and she figured she'd given herself plenty of time to make sure she wasn't overreacting, so Nadia tried calling Veronica again.

"Pick up this time, okay?" she said to the ring.

"Mars," Veronica answered her phone, not looking at the caller ID.

"There you are!" Nadia didn't think before blurting out. "I ought to fly out to California just to mallet you! Are you okay?!"

"I'm fine," Veronica said, blinking at her phone. "Why would you mallet me?"

His conversation with Marty was still going through his mind along with anything Bel had told him. It really wasn't making concentrating easy so Cameron decided that he needed a study break and if he happened to talk to his girlfriend during it, that was just a bonus.

He picked up the telephone and hit speeddial.

"Hey, baby," Veronica answered, having checked her caller ID this time. "I wasn't expecting to hear from you already. What's going on?"

"I could just be missing you," he suggested.

"Are you just missing me?" she asked.
