Busted out the Amphibian Gear this morning: rain jacket, rain pants, rain booties, and old Chrome courier bag. Oh, Raincouver, you wet, dreary mess. I arrived dry and am feeling pretty accomplished. I'll need new brake pads soon because the rain (really the road-dirt) munches them up quick.

The new CBC Radio 2 after 3pm is awesome. We're always tuned into 105.7 here, and my boss hasn't noticed the new music (or she doesn't care). I think the show's called "The Drive". The Olympics road races are tomorrow and Sunday. Most of the track stuff happens from August 15th-18th. Here's a schedule. It would be fun to go watch it somewhere.

I went to a friend's wedding this afternoon. The ceremony was at Third Beach - very sunny and hot, and simple vows with a couple readings. After an interlude of hanging out at the park, a contingent of us, including bride and groom, rode our bikes to the reception at a vegan restaurant. The venue was beautiful, and the food was awesome. It was something we'd been planning for the last year or so, so I pretty much totally associate the whole idea of going to Burning Man with Adam. Well, that was quite a commute this morning. Ridiculous gusts of wind bringing me almost to a standstill on my bike; large particles of dirt flying in my eyes, nose, and mouth - it was like cycling in a hamster wheel: move your legs as fast as you like, you're not getting anywhere.
