Tonight really pushed my Beyonce "meh" into Beyonce "UGH". I've spoken before, and recently, about how I don't get Beyonce. I'm not a fan of her music and have never been, I don't get why people think she's so great and I've just generally been a non-fan. Not a hater, just not a fan

I couldn't agree with you more about Beyonce. Her ego far surpasses her talent.

That was quite surprising about "friend's husband". It sounds quite rash and risky on his part. I'm glad that it doesn't seem to be affecting your job security.

I actually bought Beyonce's Lemonade album because I wanted to see what the fuss was about, and I figured I could expand my horizons a bit. It was fine? I don't hate it, or her, or anything like that, but I don't get the worship. To each their own and all that, but I guess there's just really not a singer or a band I feel that strongly about.

Yeah, there's a fine line between exploiting the hype for your own ends and believing your own hype, and I think Beyonce's tipped over into that latter category. I suppose it was inevitable, there's only so long you can have everyone lauding you to the skies and kissing your ass before it goes to your head. The whole Earth Mother Fertility Goddess schtick at the moment with her pregnancy....we're verging on Michael Jackson as Jesus territory here...

I completely agree with you about Beyonce. I don't get her at all. I try to be open minded because I really don't even care for pop music, but she
is definitely not all that. But Adele...OMG. Love her, she's so genuine. And despite mike issues and a very bad and disrespectful introduction, the
Gaga/Metallica duet was AMAZING.
