Cleaning poll

Dec 19, 2008 18:04

Keep in mind that I typed this poll while Yael was shouting in my ear, tugging on my hair, and generally doing whatever she could to disrupt me. Under normal circumstances, I usually leave out a very important option, so who knows what I've done this time ( Read more... )

No option for living alone! :) I just didn't vote on that one.

I am really, really messy. I knew this before, but this poll just confirms it. I especially thought the laundry question was funny. My laundry is grateful to get washed at all, there is absolutely no sorting going on.

::grin:: There's always something missing in my polls, even when I'm not distracted :D

I don't even want to talk about how messy my house is since I've been pregnant :D So yeah, I know what you mean!

In our house, it's very strange and terrifying to vacuum--but that's because our vacuum actually is so old (about 30 years old--canister-style, I believe) that it's about to blow up. Seriously, the last couple times we used it, it shot fire out the back!

Mom and I screamed at Dad to turn it off.

Yikes! I think it's time to acquire a new one. Really, Target has some good prices on vacuum cleaners ;)

Note: just because my house is, um, well... "clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy!" doesn't mean my professional life is the same way.

I'm fastidious and anal at work, either in a restaurant setting or at the hotel. Probably because I have no control over my house, so I transfer my frustrations to situations where I do have control -- get paid to have control.

Honestly, if I cleaned at home as much as I've done at work -- I'd have no life whatsoever. Screw that! XD

I'm cleaner in an office, but definitely not fastidious :D

Ah, I forgot that I'd intended to ask about how different you are at work. I'm somewhat cleaner and more organized at work, but I know a great many people are a *lot* more organized at work!

I try to keep a reasonable balance between living in filth and having other stuff I want/need to do during the day. We do Deep Cleaning twice a year, spring and fall. Closets get organized, every thing gets taken off a piece of furniture and gets dusted/polished until it shines, windows and curtains washed. Et Cetera. Between times, minimum standard.

We always do one deep cleaning at Passover and then one at another time of the year. In between, we keep things moderately neat...when I'm not pregnant ;)
