Haruhi was not like Kyon. She knew that there were more important things to be done than to sit around and eat waffles.

"Let's go, Kyon!"

So, the brunette wasted no time in entering the cafeteria, locating her classmate, and dragging him away from the table. Who needed breakfast when you had a whole mental hospital to explore?

"We're going to look around this place! It has to be interesting!" she said cheerfully, heading across the room with the other brunette in tow.

Orange juice and table… Kyon sighed quietly as he set his tray down, dropping into his chair with a slump and a sigh he reached for the life-sustaining food before him, bleary eyes staring at the food that nearly sparkled before him, the first real food he’d eaten in days.

His ears only dimly registered Haruhi’s words as she approached from behind, his head turning a bit to look up at her. Hm? She has no tray, has she eaten alread-GAH! Haruhi’s hand around the collar of his jacket startled him, his feet clumsily stumbling forward in an attempt to regain balance while his hands reach behind him to grasp at one of the waffles, wholly uneaten on the plate, still sparkling in his eyes

"Kyon, if we wait around here and eat our breakfast, we'll never find all of the interesting things around here!" Haruhi said loudly to her classmate as she pulled him away from the food. "Or, worse...other people will find them before we do! We can't let that happen! As members of the SOS Brigade, it's our job to get ahead of the rest of the supernatural investigators and discover those interesting things!"

Who cared if they-...or, rather, she...was the only one really looking for aliens, time-travelers, and Espers! She had to find them before the staff got rid of them at least!

"Where do you think that we should look first?" she asked rhetorically, probably not going to listen to Kyon no matter what he said.

“Mm hmm am mh mummo…” he mumbled through his bread, reaching a hand up to free it from his mouth as the other tries to grasp at her hand, “I said, how are we supposed to search for these things on an empty stomach?! Gack! T-tight! Pulling too tight!”

The bread slipped through his fingers as he choked and he watched it bounce on the floor dismally, his heart sinking down into his stomach… possibly to be digested, “Hmph… Haruhi if there were such things here by now don’t you think they’d of been found already? Or if not that there’d be some trick to them? I mean the obvious places would be in a basement level or the top floors where-Eh! N-never mind that! You owe me a breakfast!”

Turning he attempted to face the direction he was being dragged in so he could see where she was taking him.

Misa hadn't been expecting a visitor. The blonde turned as she heard her door open, surprised, but saw that it was just two other patients, and relaxed. The girl smiled cheerfully, shaking her head as the brunette boy apologized.

"No, don't worry! It's not like I was doing anything!" she said. However, the boy did say something that got her attention; Haruhi.

The Haruhi? Haruhi Suzumiya? The Haruhi that Light had mentioned to her?

"...Brigade Chief?" she questioned brightly, waving hesitantly to the brunette girl. "I'm Misa Amane. It's nice to meet you!"

Order= Kyon-->Misa-->Haruhi?

Haruhi didn't really notice--or care--that she had barged into another patient's room. "Sorry abou that," she said airily, not really looking to see whose room it was. She had started to turn around when the girl spoke to them, and Misa Amane's words struck a cord.

"Misa Amane?!" she exclaimed, spinning around again, looking delighted. Misa was famous after all...and she had agreed to join the Brigade. Haruhi moved forward, extending her hand for Misa to shake.

"It's great to meet you! I'm Haruhi Suzumiya, and this guy behind me is Kyon," she said, inclining her head at the indicated brunette.

“Sorry, sorry…” Kyon continued, one hand moving up behind to the back of his head, rubbing it and bowing lightly, smiling broadly at the beautiful blonde and starting to back out with Haruhi when the exit is horribly marred.

Gah! Wait! They know each other? Misa?! That’s right, she did mention it last night, but… but! Kyon continues to stare at the two of them as they exchange greetings, his spirits plummeting. This woman definitely looks prettier than most celebrities I’ve seen on T.V! This really could be Misa Amane! No good, no good! This is more attention!

Kyon’s own name brought him back as he’s introduced with such a flat tone, his scowl springing back to be directed at his fellow brunette’s head. Stop, wait! I wish you wouldn’t keep introducing me by my nickname all the time! However he couldn’t voice such thoughts in front of the new girl who was apparently already a member of the Brigade, “Miss Amane, correct? Ah… are you sure you know what you’re getting yourself into? An amused smile appeared on the face of the young idol, and she shook her head once again. "I think I'll be okay. After all, I need some fun and excitement! It's boring around here!"

She had to get close to Haruhi...and her friends, if they all thought the same. Something was different about the boy following her, though; he seemed...more cynical, and more likely to judge Kira as a criminal. Maybe she could figure out what the two thought first, and then choose whether or not they both could stay.

"So, what were you two up to? Find anything interesting?" she asked.
