Denver

Denver is a ridiculously pleasant and easy place to live in.  I feel like I am getting too soft - there is very little to fight for.  Is it just me or living in any other city after New York will seem so effortless and carefree?  I cannot really find any major irritants, distractions and annoyances.  People are very friendly, at least those that I ( Read more... )

San Diego is off the charts, I agree :) The weather there probably allows biking almost every day, while in Denver we have to take short breaks b/c of occasional snowstorms. Still, biking in January? I don't think I've ever done this before! :)

Yay for Colorado! There is just so much variety here, so much to do, outdoors and indoors, it blows my mind. I certainly hope you will move back here. We never thought we would be able to, but look at us! We did it :)

Thank you for the photos, they are lovely! My favourite has to be the one with the thin layer of ice on the side of the lake... but only because I am a bit overloaded on ducks lately :)

Most smaller towns are soft to live in. New York must be quite something, though!

thank you! The assignment was to take 100 pics within an hour, so ducks were easy targets :)

I don't consider Denver to be a small town. The metro area is about 3 mln people, which makes it 15-20th largest metro area in the US. Of course, compared to NYC (20 mln) and Chicago (10 mln) almost every other town will look small.

I just can't get over the weather here, really. :)

3 million is definitely not small! It's amazing that a city that size would still feel like a town, at least from your descriptions it does!

as compared to Moscow, London and NYC almost any other city will look small! Heck, even Chicago feels smaller than NYC, and it is huge! ;)

i am happy you are enjoying - this is the most important.
i guess the 'good side' is about how it feels, not what you do , right?

because otherwise it does seem pretty much along the similar lines with what the rest of the world does... with some differences in outside temperature of course :)

well, the job market sucks. But with this weather and this climate - who cares! lol
Besides, it is relatively inexpensive to live here, so I don't need a super high paying job to support this lifestyle. As everything, it is a trade-off...
