A question and a complaint...

First, the complaint. I'm home early for the second day in a row. Now, on Saturdays I usually like to do this anyway since our cable/satalite isn't set to the right time zone and I get all of CN's anime way too early in the day. I miss it if I don't come home early, and since I'm a lazy ass as is, I like to leave early on Saturday. But ( Read more... )

The Princess And The Pea ikky May 7 2007, 02:30:26 UTC
There was once a prince, and he wanted a princess, but then she must be a real Princess. He travelled right around the world to find one, but there was always something wrong. There were plenty of princesses, but whether they were real princesses he had great difficulty in discovering; there was always something which was not quite right about them. So at last he had come home again, and he was very sad because he wanted a real princess so badly ( ... )

OMFG! Why would you want a woman that picky? Damn! But thanks for the bed time story, it really helped. I'm sure I can come up with something entertaining to do with this story *evil laugh*

I love fairy tales, I've got books of them in my library. Just remember, most classic fairy tales have morbid tendencies and dark endings!

That's kind of what gave me the idea in the first place. I've always loved the orginal tellings, when I can find them.

There was a king who had twelve beautiful daughters. They slept in twelve beds all in one room; and when they went to bed, the doors were shut and locked up; but every morning their shoes were found to be quite worn through as if they had been danced in all night; and yet nobody could find out how it happened, or where they had been ( ... )

Fairy Tales... I think Naruto is a pretty good fairy tale. As is Sailormoon or any 'magical girl' genre.

Get real. That's not going to happen.

*LOL* I knew I could count on you to win the snarkiest remark contest. Don't think I have it in me to do a Sailormoon fic though *shudders*

It's true though! They're just a more modern equivalent of a fairy tale. All fairy tales are just stories that have stuck around a long time and become cliche because everyone knows 'em. I ponder that the same'll happen in 100-200 years (assuming of course that our culture survives that long, optimistically, I'm not counting on that, but for sake of argument, we'll go with it) with our current fantasy/sci-fi stories.
