Who: Luke Skywalker and whoever Where: The study, to start with. When: Day 001, just after noon. What: Luke's trying to get his bearings in the house. Warnings: N/A
He was one of the stronger ones, she could tell. Strong enough that she was sure she could almost touch him, if she just reached out she could grab his sleeve and take him to her side. But she couldn't, yet, they would stop her. He might not want to go.
She settled in the reading chair in the study, half hidden by the blanket, watching him through the door. Watching him. Luke. Luke Skywalker. Older, but she didn't mind. He would become hers, and then nothing would matter, would it? Nothing at all.
She watched him, waiting for him to enter. Luke. Hers.
The study looked comfortable, and like the library, the shelves were not full of datacards but more treepaper books. Luke had gotten the idea that this place wasn't nearly as technologically advanced as his home, and that idea was continuing to bear out. The desk was covered in paper, too, and there was a pen - an actual fountain pen - and a picture in a frame. Not a holo-photo, like the dozens he had of Ben growing up and of his life with Mara all contained in one device. A static photo.
The sense of being watched had increased in here. Weird.
Luke turned, still taking in the room, and suddenly saw the little girl watching him from the chair. He didn't jump, or twitch, or anything, despite the fact she'd startled him. Maybe it'd been her he'd just heard running around and giggling. Kids played games, didn't they?
"Hello, there," Luke said with a smile, taking a step closer. "What's your name?"
He was talking to her. He was admiring her room. He wasn't afraid of her, he wasn't afraid at all. Everyone else was always afraid, at first. He would be hers, for sure. Nobody could take him from her, even they couldn't take him from her. Not if he liked her. She liked him.
"Hello." Her voice sounded odd, like someone has blended several together, and decided on what they thought seemed the nicest.
Something seemed... off about her. Something in the way she spoke, or her manner, didn't strike Luke as being quite like the way a human child of the age he guessed her to be should act. But his danger sense hadn't altered from the low-level prickling it had been since he'd arrived here. It would have warned him more insistently if something was amiss. He hoped.
But still... she knew his name. And he'd definitely never met her before, or seen her around.
"That's right," Luke said. He kept his voice calm, his manner calm. Maybe she was Force sensitive? "I'm Grand Master Luke Skywalker. Who are you?"
Hope it's okay to jump in still]The bells had chimed moments ago, startling Liz where she had sat in the other room (the Dawn Room). The children laughing had bothered her as well, even if they sounded happy, she didn't like it so much. That little girl, she wondered if she was part of that
( ... )
Liz arriving startled him, and Luke blinked quickly and shook his head a little to clear it from where he'd been staring at the space where the little girl had suddenly... vanished. She'd done it again, and who knew where she'd gone?
And he still didn't know her name.
"What? No, I'm not March," Luke replied, turning to face Liz and drawing his cloak a little more tightly around him. That whole encounter had left him feeling odd. "Hey, did you just see a little girl right there, with her hand on the door?" He pointed in to where the girl had been last, and hoped to the Force he wasn't coming off as crazy.
Yeah, she didn't figure he was the man in the photo, but it couldn't be helped to check. She came in properly, letting the door fall shut on it's own, moving to the shelf she had got this book from and putting it back, but she was eying the place where he had just indicated.
A little girl? She paused, drawing the book back to her and looking at that spot. He saw a girl? She looked uneasy to the man again.
"Was it Nina?" She asked first, but she had the feeling it was that Lil' Girl ghosty she had seen days before, with Leon. Still, best to test the waters.
She kept her distance from the new man, but she was pretty sure by now that he was a guest here too. He didn't seem like one who was here already.
She'd shifted her weight to the balls of her feet to silence her heels from making any noise as she continued to wander through the house. It seemed deserted as far she could tell, but if she and the lion-man had found themselves here, there had to be others as well. when she pushed open the door to the study, the sight of someone else made her hesitate for just a second.
Then, easy as pie, she slipped inside as though his presence hadn't been unexpected in the least. She seemed to be in no hurry to acknowledge him, but she kept her senses sharp in case he suddenly decided to move. Her fingers played over the dusty spines of the book. Nothing out of the ordinary, it seemed...
"I take it you're another guest." She finally spoke to the books, tilting her head back so she could catch a glimpse of the man.
Luke turned, nodding and smiling to the woman who'd just walked in. She'd startled him a bit, but he had calmed down a bit from how unsettled that little girl had made him and wasn't so jumpy anymore.
"Unfortunately," Her lips quirked faintly, returning the expression as she turned to face him more fully. "The name's Ada. Ada Wong. Have you met the others?"
He didn't seem frightened. On edge, perhaps, but weren't they all?
"I'm Luke Skywalker," he said, bowing slightly from the waist. "I've met a couple other people. Um... Hizashi, and a little girl - Nina. And now you. It's nice to meet you, Ada."
Luke shifted, smoothing a hand down his arm through the sleeve of his brown cloak. It was chilly in here despite that the light and the bell earlier meant it was after midday. Maybe this planet was just colder than normal. "I've heard there are others. Do you know how many?"
