One year ago today we had the ultrasound where we learned ian's gender. I wore blue that day because I somewhat had a hunch that we would be having a boy. It has been exactly one year since we found out that we were expecting ian. It was a Sunday afternoon and Archie's friend had just left after a week long visit with us. I have weighed ian the past two days and he is officially over 13 pounds. One day he was 13.4 and then 13.6. Wow. I mean I know he is supposed to grow and get bigger, but it just seems crazy that he has already gained 5 pounds since birth ( Read more... )

Has ian started sleeping through the night already? Last week while Archie was away he slept for 6 hours without waking up. So far this week we've had 2 nights in a row where he continuously slept for 7 hours and then last night he slept for 6 1/2. I am overjoyed that he may be on track to sleeping through the night! Wow, so ian is now 2 months and 2 weeks old. Yikes!! He just had his 2 month check-up last Thursday, where he got his first round of vaccinations. I was worried how he would do with the whole needle situation, and let me just say he is TOUGH!! They gave him some children's tylenol (bubblegum flavored) about 10 minutes before injection time. Somehow 6 weeks have already passed which means I will have to go back to work in just another 6 short weeks. Why can't we live somewhere fun that allows a woman to be home with her child for longer than 12 weeks? Can you believe ian is a bit over a month old? Wow. We went to the doctor yesterday for his one month visit. He now weighs 9 pounds 8.6 ounces and is 22 1/4 inches long. I was super happy to know that he is well over 9 pounds, since the last time we were there he hadn't yet gotten over his original birth weight. I'm pretty sure his head has ( Read more... )

One thing ian is not a fan of yet is bath time. Last night was my first attempt at doing it all by myself, which wasn't as bad as it has been. Most of the time he will wail at the top of his lungs from the moment you strip him down and place him inside his little tiny inflatable bathtub.
