I love the lines of communication you have between the twom and the fact that you haven't just let Remus' parents accept it. I never think that rings particularly true; yes they've probably accepted the werewolf thing by now, but that doesn't mean they'll be jumping for joy that their son is also gay. Plus historical context.
So yes, lovely.

As for Remus' parents, I've never thought that rang true, either. And the scenario of them looking desperately for a cure to lycanthropy is either very sweet or really awful, isn't it? My own parents are the cure-seeking type, and it's not a happy scenario.
Even though I have posted fic and am replying to you now, through, rest assured I'm still working diligently for my fic! (smile) Very happy to see it on your to-do list. *not applying any pressure, oh no*

It's that horrible mixture of both. Where you know they care, but you want them to stop. Because if you're always searching for the cure you aren't going on living. There comes a point where you just have to learn to lump it. I refuse to say 'deal' because ugh to the psychobabble. I am too English for it. My parents on the contrary are very much the ignoring there's a problem school of parenting. I spent many days at school with the flu, because they refused to believe I had the flu.
I believe you when you say you're working diligently. I have what promises to be a boring day at work ahead of me, so I shall be diligently ficc-ing.

There comes a point where you just have to learn to lump it. Ah, you are wise for your years, Liseuse. You may skip psychoanalysis (self-analysis) and go directly to fiction (character analysis). (smile)

In any case, thanks for reading and commenting! I'm glad this worked for you, even a little out of context. To be honest, the whole series is like this, semi-independent one-shots; it's not nearly so tightly plotted as Spy v. Spy or some of the other longer pieces. In my little world, people talk a lot and not much happens... (sheepish smile)
Thanks again for stopping by,
Maggie

And about Talking and not much happening is a good thing--remember that curse about 'interesting times:' that's in life, not in fic! I was actually thinking about Spy v. Spy when I started these stories (which were done for Wellymuck), but for all of your good example I think only about three of four of the installments have anything *happening* in them. Ah, well. As Liseuse says above, there comes a point when one just has to learn to lump it. (A lesson it took most of my twenties to learn.) M.
