I really, really enjoyed that. Sorry to keep calling your fics 'atmospheric', but this one is too. Anyway, it's a compliment, so I'm sure you won't mind! I specially love the title and the way it relates in so many different ways to the story.

Oh this was lovely. I mean, I feel horrible for poor Remus, but it was still lovely.

I love the lines of communication you have between the twom and the fact that you haven't just let Remus' parents accept it. I never think that rings particularly true; yes they've probably accepted the werewolf thing by now, but that doesn't mean they'll be jumping for joy that their son is also gay. Plus historical context.

So yes, lovely.

Thanks for reading, Liseuse! Don't worry about Remus, he's doing just fine. You saw the worst of it here. *pets Remus* Or rather: *pets Liseuse*

As for Remus' parents, I've never thought that rang true, either. And the scenario of them looking desperately for a cure to lycanthropy is either very sweet or really awful, isn't it? My own parents are the cure-seeking type, and it's not a happy scenario.

Even though I have posted fic and am replying to you now, through, rest assured I'm still working diligently for my fic! (smile) Very happy to see it on your to-do list. *not applying any pressure, oh no*

*Revels in the petting, much like Padfoot in the park. Which sounds like it should be a play. Nope. I'm thinking of something else. It'll come to me.*

It's that horrible mixture of both. Where you know they care, but you want them to stop. Because if you're always searching for the cure you aren't going on living. There comes a point where you just have to learn to lump it. I refuse to say 'deal' because ugh to the psychobabble. I am too English for it. My parents on the contrary are very much the ignoring there's a problem school of parenting. I spent many days at school with the flu, because they refused to believe I had the flu.

I believe you when you say you're working diligently. I have what promises to be a boring day at work ahead of me, so I shall be diligently ficc-ing.

Either a play or the worst fluff ever. Let's hope it's the former.

There comes a point where you just have to learn to lump it. Ah, you are wise for your years, Liseuse. You may skip psychoanalysis (self-analysis) and go directly to fiction (character analysis). (smile)

Wonderful. Very much in the spriit of the main story - just lovely little moments between them, some painful, some hopeful, and all very realistic.

Glad you enjoyed! I'm not quite done with this universe yet. Still wonderering what McGonagall does in her cat-form, though... Thanks again, Maggie

Wanders around the castle. Or if you're pre_raphaelite1 she does this - so NC17 it's painful.

This may just be the nicest comment ever. Thank you, Last_Radio. I love these characters, too, and I can't seem to leave them in peace. It surprises me sometimes, when I go back to look at the books, that they don't even have much a place in canon, because they're so vivid and real to me. Glad you enjoyed spending a few minutes with them this evening! Thanks again for the comment. *smile* Maggie

I haven't read the rest of your stories yet (ach, I know! I will!) but this works very well as a one-shot. Poor Remus, with the horrible job and the parental pressure. You're not AU, are you? So Sirius' line about Remus being good at lying is... horribly ironic? Wah!

magnetic_pole June 17 2006, 02:48:50 UTC
No, not AU, though it may seem like I've played a little fast-and-loose with canon because I haven't gone the same direction as most on the issue of mutual distrust. (That's what you're talking about, I assume?) I have some other problems with canon I'm trying to iron out (*cries*) before reposting.

In any case, thanks for reading and commenting! I'm glad this worked for you, even a little out of context. To be honest, the whole series is like this, semi-independent one-shots; it's not nearly so tightly plotted as Spy v. Spy or some of the other longer pieces. In my little world, people talk a lot and not much happens... (sheepish smile)

Thanks again for stopping by,
Maggie

Concerning AU, I was meaning that things would fall apart canonically, in which case the seeds of distrust sown will *sniffle* bear fruit. Knowing the bad to come makes everything in this early period tned to become coloured with that *more sniffling*. Nice that the can be happy for now, though.... Talking and not much happening is a good thing--remember that curse about 'interesting times'....

Ah, Busaikko, you really are a connoisseur of angst. I'm intense and a bit grim but at heart more of a romantic than you, I think. (*suddenly worries about the pregnant Remus I discovered the other night*)

And about Talking and not much happening is a good thing--remember that curse about 'interesting times:' that's in life, not in fic! I was actually thinking about Spy v. Spy when I started these stories (which were done for Wellymuck), but for all of your good example I think only about three of four of the installments have anything *happening* in them. Ah, well. As Liseuse says above, there comes a point when one just has to learn to lump it. (A lesson it took most of my twenties to learn.) M.
