Anyone here make their own retainers?I heard you can use nylon and melt that stuff together to make a post and 16g flexy bar(clear/flesh tone)..but i cant quite get a visual picture on how to do this.

i've always wanted to have the other side of my nose pierced, but my work does not permit it. i am, however, going on vacation from work and will not be there for 11 days. tomorrow i was going to get my nose pierced, but as soon as i return to work i will need to wear a retainer. will changing it in 11 days be that harmful to the healing process?  My birthday is coming up, and I'm probably going to get a new piercing. Currently, I have a double nostril piercing. My mom doesn't really want me to get any oral piercing, but if I can get it approved by my dentist it's okay (pretty much ruling out tongue, or smiley). Generally, I don' t like eyebrow piercings.
