Well, yeah I can.
Without sounding totally insane? That'd be a little trickier.

They brought you here for some reason or another, special skills, strengths, whatever. Hoping you can help some aliens in a civil war that they have going on.

Essentially you get a working vacation, all expenses paid, and when something happens you scramble and hide because nobody can really do anything about this whole conflict.
