I don't know...

Had gaming night this Saturday (the one at SIU, as opposed to the newer group at Logan).

Dunno what to think... just not really "meshing" with these guys, and I get the feeling maybe the feeling is mutual.  Try to relax, play the game, have fun, but I don't know, my annoyance at their inane jokes and constant, game-delaying chatting ( Read more... )

You know, I've been reading your journal for a while, and it does seem like you seem to be facing the same problems over and over. If I were you, I'd really think hard about the whole moving out issue. To me, it seems like staying in a stifling environment like that just can't be good for you mentally, and it's probably affecting your sociality (is that a word? lol we're just making up all kinds of words these days I guess). Anyway! I think the roleplaying idea is actually a great idea. It sounds like a good way to do some self-evaluation as well, like think about where you could've done things differently and how to talk to people when you meet them IRL.

Good luck!

Well, yeah, the whole "not making friends" and depression are things I've been dealing with in one form or another pretty much most of my life.

Moving out? Well, we're working on it.. hoping I'll get a decent tax refund and maybe I could use that for the first month's rent. Still job hunting, but that's been going slow...

We'll keep you updated.

You get refunds?? For what?? Oh, I have so much to learn about the world...

Who's we, btw? Do you have a siamese twin you're not telling me about? :P

Here's how tax refunds work: The government takes money out of your paycheck every week as your tax deduction so they can be able to run the system. The amount they take out, though, is just a guess of how much you would make throughout the year. At the end of the year you find out how much you really made, and if the government took too much money from you (meaning you made less money than they thought you would) you get that money back. If you made more money than they thought, then you owe the government that money. And that is what taxes are all about.
