So far, no. Sigh. I'm just a hard time understanding people. One of them even went and read both, and STILL said, "omg! They copied you!" when it's quite obviously the other way around...

Heh. I think I got kicked out of that newsgroup long ago for not posting. I was all flattered that they had asked me in as a "good writer!!1!" though, but, um, didn't read most of the other writers being posted there, so the flattery wore off.

I got the impression from your previous posts that the actual text of the story had been find/replaced... is that true? Or is it more that the girl might actually think she's just "inspired by" a story (the way young and new writers sometimes are -- the excuse wears off if you're OVER TWELVE, though), copying ideas and plotlines and little bits of clever dialogue?

And don't worry, I'm not defending her, I'm just curious and looking for more information.

It was pretty much a find/replace names job, with a little tiny bit of tweaking to change things from NCIS terms to SGC terms.

Although Jack shopping at Hot Topic because it's Sam's favorite place? Should've been a big clue.. (even scarier, I remember reading the end--Tony gives Abby a gold heart-shaped locket, and she's all thrilled--months and months ago, and mocking it, as Abby would chew Tony up and spit him out)

Her stories might be uploaded to the Files section of that Yahoo group. If you have someone on the inside, have them check it out. Authors do that on my Joe group all the time.

I imagine this is her only defense now. She's been found out and she has to cry "but they copied me omg!!11!". She'll do it again. Nothing wrong with you making her life a little hellish though until then.

I think what irks me (and disturbs me) is that there are people who read both versions, and still think she's just being persecuted by evil people...

Yeah, no kidding. She's apparently such a god-like writer that she has all these other people copying her work. Amazing.

I have no sympathy for Suzie Q. or whatever the hell she calls herself. She stole, she's lied, and she's a tool. And the people who believe her when the evidence shows that she stole and not the other way around are idiots. Arggh.
