Top10 Most Unjustified TV Cancellations

May 09, 2010 15:01

So far, 2010 hasn't been terribly good to us fangirls. Due to the recent axing of one of the best shows on television at the moment, the following list was born. Because I like making lists. Lists are fun (and totally geeky, but that's beside the point ( Read more... )

When you told me you were making a list, I had no idea it was this heartbreaking. All the shows you've mentioned were fantastic, but I especially miss 'Out of Practice' (I have all the episodes now), 'Karen Sisko', 'ARCTW' and of course, 'Legend of the Seeker'.

I don't understand how fabulous shows like these get cancelled when shows a lot worse (and with ratings much worse) get more and more chances.

Man, I'm depressed now... I'm gonna watch me some Stockard and Henry.

OMG, I know! It wasn't until afterwards that I realised what a downer this entry is. Oops? :p

Funny thing, Out of Practice was one of the shows I had to download an episode of for getting the screencaps. I downloaded a random episode and it was a Finnish rip, with subtitles in Finnish and everything. I LOLed. :D

Nothing pissed me off more (well, TV-wise) than seeing amazing shows get canceled while crappy shows are given more and more chances so that they can "find their audience". Well, F you! *fumes*

I would also add Popular and Farscape (and Life), but otherwise you are absolutely right.
I just watched OoP btw :)

there is still a tiny little bit of hope for LOTS, I really think we need a decent funny fantasy show that is pure entertainment, with great hair and pretty hot people. I will now go back to rewatch the latest episode and then drool myself to sleep.

Yes, to all three! Life I fell out of love there for a bit, but the second part of Season 2 was really good again. Sarah Shahi! <3

Yes, there's still hope for LotS and I'm definitely wishing for a miracle. It's happened before, AND OMG WE NEED ALL THIS CARA GAYNESS. Her tongue. I am a loyal fan now!

Life had a less than stellar few episodes, but bounced back so nicely. they really should have given it another season at least.

LOTS was / is the only show I watch regularly this season, not even CM anymore! But Cara made the 2nd season so much better than the first one, and since the focus is not only on Richard and Kahlan anymore, I enjoy it even more. not that I don't like them, but lovey-dovey people drive me insane.
So let's hope, I would even go as far and add my signature to a list, and I have not done that since Farscape (and we got more episodes and mini-movies ...)

The frustrating thing about Seeker, too, is that it's being canned because Tribune has money problems, not because it can't find an audience or has crappy ratings. Given its ridiculous time slots, it actually pulls in quite good ratings. The unfairness of the situation makes me want to bash my head against a wall.

Oh, don't get me started on the unfairness of it all! They will find a new producing company, they will. They absolutely will. Right? Plz? *is a sad, sad panda*

It does give me hope that they haven't officially announced the cancellation yet. There have been rumblings about eleventh-hour attempts, Terry Goodkind lending support, other companies perking up.... We'll see, I guess. I'm not counting on/expecting it at all but it would be effing awesome if it happens.

Oh! Wonderfalls was so fabulous. ♥ And your comment totally reminded me that I never finished watching The Middleman, which I absolutely need to do at some point!

Moment of silence for Dead Like Me, WMC and ZOMG Medical Investigation and Out of Practice yesyesyes.

I agree with everything you said, particularly about Regina being one of the most awesome lesbian characters on TV ever (how often do you get a girl-chasing lesbian character whose one goal in life is NOT to have a baby?! NEVER, that's when!) and the total gayness of Eva and Natalie. You're making me want to rewatch the whole series just to bask in their sheer cuteness (and word on that line from Eva. I cannot comprehend what ELSE the writers intended to mean other than that Eva has a gigantic crush on Nat. Just... the mind boggles. Sigh).

Exactly! I love the fact that Regina was a real skirt-chaser whose personal idea of hell was a family and kids, heh. Besides, Paula Marshall totally looked the part.

Hee! I've been meaning to watch Medical Investigation again for ages. That needs to be done during the summer. Oh boy, remember the series finale? All that touching and being totally married. *sigh*
