so, I'm back in NY now. Got back... week and a half ago, after a six-day drive from the west coast to the east. I managed to fit 99% of everything I brought with me in the back of my new Civic (not bad, after moving out in a pickup truck) and the car managed to survive the trip.

So, in the past week or so, life has gotten particularly scary for me. We can start off with a run of the mill bi-annual gynecological exam last Tuesday. All the usual procedures, I get some new pills, and a new anti-depressant drug to give a go at. Not a big deal.

i am going to have to get a second job in order to eat.
i do have a new car and a pricey insurance policy. hoping it'll go down in two months when i have a ticket that will go away, maybe down further when a new insurance company comes to WA.

so, i'm still hunting for a new car. waiting for the insurance money to come my way, so i can start browsing and budgeting fairly.
still don't know what i want, knowing i can't get a good late-model truck for under $4k. recommendations from those who drive cars would be welcomed. what do you drive and why do you love it? tell me. help me decide.

So, as of tomorrow, I'll be officially living with Don.
Still kind of freaks me out, but I'm getting used to the idea. He wins so far for longest relationship at just over sixth months, but that doesn't mean i'm at all ready to live with him. what else is new...
target is shooing me towards a management position. how often is it that your bosses plot to put you in charge behind your back? not often. i am nervous and pleased simultaneously. trying to tell myself i can/want to do this, it's a great opportunity.

So, Friday's my last day working at Chop Suey. I'm pretty sad about it; I really like working there, I like the people and I like the job itself (aside from the not getting paid part, of course). Final grades came out today for the Fall 2007 semester.
I passed college.
no more school for me. 4 1/2 years and I am DONE.
i'm terribly excited right now.

I hate chicago. It is a vortex of misery.
Although, the one observation I've made while spending countless hours in O'Hare recently, is that while patrons get horribly irritated with the airline employees, they're terribly nice to each other. I am glad to be home. i got lucky and managed to get on a flight home yesterday after one flight cancellation and luck of the draw for standby on the next flight available.
i got the most enthusiastic welcome from my dog ever. my face must have been dog-bathed thrice over. i missed him.
