Managed to get the filter out of washing machine and found it contained two small buttons and a tiny bit of fluff. I removed them and then ran another wash and the water drained properly! It's weird though because I don't own anything with buttons like that so they must have been rattling around in that machine since 2012 (when my grandma was using

I love that your plants all have names. Also, I agree that you had a much larger plant haul this year! I am glad to hear they're all still alive. :D

Seems likely. We've had the same problem with lemon pips in our dishwasher.

It taught us to pay more attention to the condition of the things we put in there, even though the machine has a rinsing program. :) Hasn't happened again since.
