Managed to get the filter out of washing machine and found it contained two small buttons and a tiny bit of fluff. I removed them and then ran another wash and the water drained properly! It's weird though because I don't own anything with buttons like that so they must have been rattling around in that machine since 2012 (when my grandma was using ( Read more... )

It makes me feel invested in them - I like being able to go out and say "How are you doing?" at them and feel they have names! Although does occasionally cause sadness when they die!

I'm glad your washing machine is back working again and it was a simple fix! I read your post but it was too late to offer advice by the time I got round to it (busy!).

It was a great, great relief, I did not want to have to call someone out and maybe get a new one! May it live forever!

Plants are still doing all right. Steve looked a bit wilty but he seems to have perked up ...
