Ugh, I am not very well. Almost everyone in work has had some strain of this lurgy and I thought I had the milder strain except I have carried on not being very well. And carried on. And carried on. So my symptoms are mild but I've had them for a week and now I feel weak! Mind you, at least I'm not as bad as yesterday where I was mostly just ( Read more... )

I had no idea lycoris meant twilight in Greek. That makes it even prettier.

Sorry you've come down with the work lurgy. Here's hoping you feel better soon.

I think it might be one of the lesser goddesses but I'm not sure about that and haven't done the research - I just think I read it since and was all "Cool, I can be a goddness now!"

I am very slowly improving - it's been a HORRID bug, I've not had a cold like it for years!

Your story is a good one, never fear. I got my name through a contest I held to find myself a good screen name back when I ran an MSN Group for old movie fans.

I never would have thought of picking a name from a baby book. That was clever, it's kind of like you picked a new name for your new life on lj.

I went through a stage of looking at baby name books a lot - I liked to give original characters very outlandish names. I don't do that quite so much now but I do still own a few baby name books and flick through them for interesting prospects!

Heh, that's a lovely idea, I like it. :)

Interesting! My own association with your name was with licorice -- which probably says a lot about me :-)

I hope you'll feel better soon.

Heh, you are not the first to think "licorice" when you see "lycoris", don't worry! Sadly, I don't actually like licorice very much otherwise I'd find it a cooler assosiation. :)

Personally I love licorice (I'm Dutch, after all) so for me it's definitely a positive association!
