 mom and i ended up in the er. TWICE. "atrial fibrillation." i feel like i've been completely abandoned by my friends, but i certainly can rattle off medical terms and drug names to complete strangers in the back of ambulances. anyway, mom is in one piece. this is the worst experience of my life THUS FAR (i've learned to qualify that for people who ( Read more... )

 i finally hit the edge of the cliff and went flying over and cried. sobbed hysterically, more like. at least i know i'm not a robot.

mom has pre-pneumonia symptoms. this is a pretty standard complication of being on an artificial heart and lung machine, so standard the nurses are just like "BREATHE THROUGH YOUR NOSE AND TAKE DIS PILL" and that's about it. she's tentatively scheduled to be released on wednesday, if she keeps taking her potassium like a good girl. my sister is in ( Read more... )
