That was wonderful!! Jack is so obviously, completely Jack, but at a very low point of his life, and Will and Elizabeth are just right, too. Your description of his lodgings -- ugh! Very vivid, I must say. What a wonderful story you've wrought here, what a gift! And one more section still to look forward to! I really don't deserve such a surfeit of riches, but I thank you most sincerely.

I'm so glad you think the depictions of Jack et al are "just right"! Comments like that make me very happy indeed! The trick for me was making Jack the same Jack we know, but different enough so that Will and Elizabeth don't immediately recognise him when they meet again, in seven year's time! :-)

Your description of his lodgings -- ugh! Very vivid, I must say.

Yes, poor Jack! To go from being master of the magnificent Pearl, to losing everything. How far he's fallen in three years! But when one has hit bottom, there's nowhere to go but up, eh?

What a wonderful story you've wrought here, what a gift! And one more section still to look forward to!I apologise for taking so unconscionably long to complete it! I hope to post the conclusion next weekend. You've been so very patient, waiting all these weeks for your Christmas fic, and I appreciate that. (But who knew Christmas would last until ( ... )

This certainly conveys a fine sense of (disreputable) place. And of Jack, during what must've been one of the worst nadirs of his life.

Ah, such a generous gesture on Elizabeth's part- perhaps it made all the difference!

Kudos on a fine fic. :)

Yes ... poor Jack, parted from his precious Pearl for three long years, likely suffering the lowest point of his life since Beckett and the branding. And resorting to living in a flophouse so squalid that even the vermin refuse to stay there! (That's GOT to be bad!) :-(

But you know our Jack ... give him some time for his bumps and bruises to heal, some clean duds, a bit of shine in his mouth to plug that gap, a new hair-do--and a good dose of hope--and he'll be good as new, ready to conquer the world, and get the Pearl back! After all, he IS Captain Jack Sparrow! He just needs to be reminded of that! ;-)

Ah, such a generous gesture on Elizabeth's part- perhaps it made all the difference!

Yes, one can never underestimate the impact of an act of kindness, particularly when you're feeling at the end of your rope.

Kudos on a fine fic. :)Thank you so much! I'm so glad you're enjoying it ( ... )

Oh yea! Beauty-just perfectly wonderful. What a nasty dirty (delightful description of) the room where he takes them--of his improvised shower, yuck! chamber pots....gross/real but...and the innocents. He really does take care of the ones he decides upon for whatever reason he decides upon them. Yes, it's Jack, no doubt in this one's mind--even though he's sorta on the whipped puppy end of things right now.

Loved the introductions...and the banter. Eating their manly headwear! Laughed myself silly on that one.

Now to the meat of the matter for me....
"His face was transformed, becoming almost transcendent, as he continued, in a low, passionate voice. "On rare occasions, a captain is blessed by being paired with a ship that is his equal in every way-his soul's mate, if you will. >I was fortunate to have found such a perfect match in my own sweet lady.""From the moment I saw her, stepped foot upon her deck, felt the curve of her wheel under me hands, heard her sweet voice in the winds singing through her shrouds and the ( ... )

Yes, well, in Jack's defence, he wasn't expecting to bring back company (at least, none that he didn't have to pay for!), or else he might have tidied up beforehand. But he WAS considerate enough to empty the chamber-pot, eh! ;-)

But, yeah, it's a real indication of what a low point Jack's been brought to. The place falls well below Jack's usual standards!

Yes, Jack just wouldn't be Jack without the quips and banter, would he? Glad it gave you a giggle! :-)

And if there is any thought in your heart that I am not in tears over this, please...ohmyword, that's the Pearl and Jack inspiring my love in their connection, you got it just right--so pretty this explanation, so from Jack's heart his driving love. Can't say enough nice about this paragraph--man, just accept you have written The Truth ( ... )

Hmm ... I wonder what effect this will have upon young William's (much? not so much perhaps?) later interest in swords and fencing? I do like the story so far, too.

Well, at the very least, after the scuffle in the street, it sure must have impressed upon young Will the necessity of carrying protection! It's a point (pun semi-intended!) well taken! :-)

Thank you so much for reading! I'm glad you're enjoying it (and I hope to wrap the tale up soon, likely this weekend)!

This is so WONDERFUL! It's such a fantastic story idea you came up with - and each installement is so vividly written!

Thank you so much for saying so! I really have a fondness for young Will & Elizabeth (and of course for our favourite pirate!), so it's been a joy to write an adventure for the two of them (particularly one that involves Jack, though they don't know him at the time)!

""Sister, eh?" He smirked as he glanced Elizabeth's way. "If so, then clearly your parents are playin' favourites. She gets fancy frocks and jewels, and you get twice-mended breeches and a second-hand chapeau, if I'm any judge of headwear-and I like to think I am. Doesn't seem very fair, mate." He frowned, his lips pursing slightly as if a thought had just occurred to him." - That was hilarious ^^ Your Jack is so great in this story.

"Will eyed him sceptically. "And if that's your real name," he said, "I'll eat my hat!" / "Now, Walter! Please be kind!" - LOL!
Yes, even though he's quite thoroughly inebriated here, his mind and eyes (and unique wit) ( ... )
