This statement against Prop 8 is quite amazing. It's from a former Republican elected official. And also ironic because at least on my viewing of it the embedded advertisement is an ad for Prop 8.

All both of you my faithful readers probably know that one of the ballot measures on the ballot here in California on November 4 is Proposition 8, which proposes to change the California constitution to define marriage as one man and one woman. Wow, here is a great blog entry describing all the assumptions one would have to buy into to believe the lies being put forward by the McCain campaign.

The Chicago Tribune has endorsed Barak Obama for president. Given that it's Chicago, this may not seem so remarkable, however, as they state in their endorsement, "This is the first time the newspaper has endorsed the Democratic Party's nominee for president." It is a very thoughtful look at Barak Obama the man and the public servant.
