Couple questions

#1: I've been using SJG for a few months now and love it. My only problem is that I have sensitive skin and occasionally, the exfoliation is too much and causes some redness/irritation (which, when it meets toner = ouch). I love the way the oils make my skin feel and was wondering if Baby Face is essentially the same oil-wise as SJG or is it ( Read more... )

return policy, cleanser: babyface

re: #2 - I don't know much about the customer service aspect, but I use imperialis regularly. How much are you using? you really only need one finger-dip (like, touch your finger to it) for each half of your face, if that. It spreads a LOT, and if you get too much, yo will be an oil slick (it took me a few tries to figure out the balance). Also - which toner are you using with it? If you're using BoFA, that's a lot of moisture, too. I use tea tree water, which cuts oil, so the two together works well.

I use enough for the tip of my finger and make sure that it's spread completely (without rubbing my face too much). It's just something with my skin I believe.

And I use BoFA. I've tried TTW and it's way too drying/harsh for my skin.

Have you tried Eau Roma Water? It's in-between the other two toners in terms of the moisturizing/cutting oil

I'm going to try Eau Roma next, I think. BoFA seems to be better for me when I need to freshen up during the day rather than after cleansing. But, I'm disappointed in the Imperialis because I love how it smells!

if the imperialis was bought online, you'd have to send it back to them there, but if it's from a store, you'd have to contact the store and they then will tell you what is possible.

Actually, even if it was bought online, as long as you're fine with exchanging it/getting and using store credit right then, you can return it to a store. You don't even need a receipt.

As per Lush policy, they prefer you are honest about where you bought it, as the inventory systems are separate. Mail order purchases should be sent back to Mail order.

My mom bought it in the store. So, I should just contact them and see what they recommend?

I used Imperialis too, and it made my forehead super oily, even though I only used about a finger-tip sized amount for my entire face. I use Vanishing Cream now, and I love it. FYI, I have normal skin with an oily t-zone.

That's pretty much my skin as well. My forehead, nose and the apples of my cheeks sometimes feel like I've put oil straight on my face. It's really odd. I've heard wonderful things about Vanishing Cream and would love to try it!

#1 Have you tried alternating SJG with another cleanser? I'm just wondering if SJG is too much exfoliation for daily use but might be fine to use a couple times a week.
Also, I'm curious about which toner you use. My face is fairly sensitive and I've never had a Lush toner sting. Alcohol-based toners from other companies make my skin sting even if I haven't been exfoliating, though, and really dry my skin out.

#2 My Lush purchases have all been online, and I'm not really sure of the return policies. I think I read somewhere that you can return anything you don't like but you have to pay for the shipping back.
Did your mother buy the Imperialis from a store or from online? Would it be possible to send it back to the store with her the next time she goes?

Oh, I don't use SJG every day; I use it 1-2x a week. My regular cleanser is AOBS/Aqua Marina and actually Porridge occasionally. Now that the weather is getting colder and dry, my skin is needed something more gentle. Before Lush, I could only use Dove Sensitive in the winter. I think the sting came from the sea water in BoFA because of the salt, so maybe I should switch to Eau Roma for the winter. I'm hoping the Baby Face might be a little easier as well.

I don't know when my mom will be at the store again and I'd like to get a replacement to start using since I need a moisturizer, but have no luck with non-Lush brands. Someone suggested above to call the store she purchased it at, so I'll do that or call customer service.

I use Eau Roma and it's great. It smells wonderful and it's really gentle on my skin.

I've been scared of the buttery cleansers because my skin did not react well to the butter-based moisturizers. The rest of my skin loves cocoa and shea butters but they must be too heavy for my face. Gorgeous has been the only Lush moisturizer that didn't make me break out after a week or two.

I'm fairly sure that Baby Face is quite a bit heavier than SJG ( ... )
