This particular part is their one year anniversary. I hope you guys like it, I had alot of fun writing it <3)

Luke was happy.

It was a sunny day today, he had the perfect boyfriend and he was pretty sure he was going to get laid tonight.

He walked into memorial and headed towards the neurology wing, slowing slightly when he saw his prey. He took in the wonderful sight before stalking after him.

“Guess who.” Luke whispered in Reid’s ear, covering his eyes with his hands, causing him to come to an abrupt halt in the middle of the corridor.

“Either it’s Luke, in which case I’ll be pleasantly surprised, or I’m going to have to file a restraining order against Dougie Hughes…or maybe Hank…”

Luke quickly spun him round to face him, grinning like an idiot.

“Funny. You know what day it is today?” Luke beamed, and Reid was sure that his boyfriend’s face would break his smile was that big. Of course Reid knew what day it was, but he decided to have a bit of fun at the expense of the younger boy.

“Tuesday?” Reid raised one eyebrow and gave Luke his best confused look.

“Wow, you’re full of jokes today.” Luke chuckled, playfully punching Reid’s chest.

“Seriously, what on earth are you talking about?”

“You really don’t know?” Luke’s face dropped like a sack of potatoes. He slowly shook his head then turned to leave.

“Luke, wait.” Reid quickly grabbed his wrist trying to halt the young blonde’s movements.

“No it’s okay Reid.” Luke turned his head and he gave him a sad smile. “It doesn’t matter. You just go back to saving lives and I’ll see you tomorrow I guess.”

“Of course I know what day it is!” Reid tugged Luke’s wrist and pulled him into a tight hug. “Happy anniversary baby.”

Baby? Really? That boy is really making me ridiculous. I may as well get sappy 13 year old girl tattooed across my forehead

“I hate you.” Luke mumbled into Reid’s ear. “When do you get off work?”

“I love you too, and about…” Reid pulled away a little, still keeping one hand on Luke’s waist, and looked at his watch “5 minutes ago. What’s the plan for tonight?”

“I was going to take you back to that French restaurant but I don’t know if they’d let us back in again. Besides, we may as well just go to subway. All you ever order is sandwiches.”

“That is not true.” Reid feigned hurt but Luke just laughed at him. “Okay, it is slightly true. Katie’s not in tonight; do you want to come over to mine? I’ll cook.”

“Sure, that sounds good. Good job I’m in the mood for takeaway pizza.” This made Reid look confused so Luke chuckled “Come on, Reid. We both know you’re not going to cook. I’m going to have to go home and get changed first”

“No you don’t, you look perfect as you are.” Reid smiled and he meant it. It wouldn’t matter if Luke were wearing a bin bag and had greasy hair; Reid would probably still think that he was edible. “I’ll drive us back now, and we’ll stop at that Italian place on the way back and order a takeaway.”

“Fine, but I’m ordering it. You always get ridiculous amounts of toppings on them.”

Reid simply rolled his eyes as Luke grabbed his hand and laced their fingers together, leading them out of memorial.

“That pizza was dull.” Reid sighed, plonking himself down next to Luke on the sofa. “It only had pepperoni on it.”

“No Reid, that’s what’s called a pizza that normal people with a normal appetite eat.” Luke giggled as he snuggled into Reid’s side. “You, my friend, do not have a regular appetite. I’m pretty sure you have hollow legs actually.”

“Whatever, I’m proud of it.” Reid kissed Luke’s hair as he wrapped his arm around his shoulder. He was never really the snuggling type before he met Luke, but now it was one of his favourite things to do. He liked it even more than sandwiches, not that he’d ever admit that out loud.

“Wait, wait, wait.” Luke yelled suddenly as he pulled away from Reid, who frowned at the loss of Luke’s warmth like a child who’d dropped his ice-cream. “I need to give you your present.”

“You got me a present?” Reid sat upright as he watched Luke’s hand plunge into his hoodie pocket trying to find the gift.

“Aha” Luke grinned triumphantly when his hand emerged from the hoodie with a small box. “First of all, you need to know this isn’t a proposal. I know you’re not ready for any of that yet, and you probably never will be.”

Reid looked down at his hands then. He loved Luke, but the thought of marrying him terrified him. The thought of fully giving himself to Luke made him happy but also scared him because if he did, then he felt that if Luke left him-which he was still certain he would do one day- it would hurt 20 times more. So overall, he wanted to marry Luke, but he couldn’t. If he did then his heart would end up being so ripped to shreds that no amount of sarcasm would ever be able to make it better. Of course Luke just believed that it was because Reid was against all that fluffy stuff, but in all honesty he was starting to warm to it.

Luke handed the box to Reid, who slowly opened it revealing a beautiful silver band. It was too big to fit on his ring finger, but looked just about the right size to fit on his middle one. He knew that this was the intention.

“It’s engraved on the inside.” Luke scooted himself closer to Reid on the sofa. “Read it.”

Reid did as he was told. The ring read: ‘Always and Forever’ and Reid started to believe a little bit more that it just might be true.

“If you hate it I can take it back.” Luke mumbled, and Reid realised that he hadn’t said anything in about 5 minutes.

“I love it,” Reid grinned, placing it on the middle finger of his right hand and twiddling it for a while before wrapping his arm back around Luke, who snuggled back into him and placed his head on his chest. “And I love you.” Reid gulped quietly before continuing. “Luke, I’ve been thinking.”

“Well that’s always dangerous.” Luke interrupted, and Reid could feel him grin into his chest.

“Shut up and listen will you?” Reid poked Luke in the ribs, causing the younger boy to squeal with laughter before settling back down against Reid. “I’ve been thinking that we should move in together.”

“Hey, you finally asked!” Luke said simply, playing absent-mindedly with the hair at the nape of Reid’s neck. “I’ve been wondering when you were going to pluck up the courage to ask me.”

“Is that a yes?” Reid mumbled into Luke’s hair.

“You know something?” Luke sat up and stared deeply into Reid’s eyes. “For a genius you’re very stupid sometimes.”

Reid smirked, loving the fact that his snark was rubbing off on Luke, and pulled Luke into a passionate kiss, which soon escalated into Luke getting laid, as he’d thought he would, on Katie’s couch.

That night Luke was the first to fall to sleep while they were both lying on the sofa together, so Reid carried him into his room.

He laid Luke down on the bed and removed both of their shoes before taking his place next to him on the bed, pulling him close to his chest. He unconsciously played with the ring on his middle finger and smiled as he fell asleep, knowing he was going to be spending his day off tomorrow looking around apartments.

Apart from when he was in surgery saving people’s lives, the ring didn’t leave Reid’s finger until the day he died. Other than Luke, it was the best thing he’d ever had.
