Luke looked around the hotel room, making sure that he had everything. It had been another week of his calling to try and talking with Reid, and Reid ignoring him. He was getting sick and tired of it. He wasn't eating much, he wasn't sleeping right. It felt wrong being away from Reid but he didn't want to return home to find that Reid either moved out or didn't want him back and just have to turn around and return to the hotel.

He was now heading to Chicago for the weekend. It was a double trip. A meeting for more money for his foundation and to just get away from Oakdale. He had already told his parents that he was leaving, his mother thought that it was a bad idea while he and Reid were still not talking. Luke had all but laughed telling her it was Reid that was not talking.

After making sure that he had everything from his room, he pulled his phone from his pocket. He had one more call to make before he got into his car and headed for Chicago. Dialing the same number he has for the past two weeks, once a day to leave a message, he hit send. Reid's voice mail picked up and he sighed, hoping this time maybe he would actually answer.

"Reid, it's me again. Listen, I'm done. I'm not going to call you this weekend while I'm in Chicago." he paused, "You win, when I get back I'll call Tom Hughes to draw up divorce papers. I'll have my dad come to get the rest of my things and drop off my key as well."

With that, he hung up. Taking a deep breath, trying not to start crying again, he stuffed his phone back into his pocket and grabbed his suitcase. He rode the elevator down to the lobby and walked up to the front desk. Amanda, the one behind the desk smiled at him.

"Checking out, Mr. Oliver."

"Yup, heading to Chicago." he smiled back.

When he was finished at the front desk, he left the hotel and got into his car. He sat there for a few minutes, just taking deep breaths before starting his car and leaving. It was a couple of hours drive to Chicago and it gave him time to just think. He didn't want a divorce but with Reid ignoring him instead of talking to him, he couldn't handle it anymore.

Over the course of the week of staying at the hotel, Luke had talked to Noah once more and told him to leave him the hell alone, which didn't work too well. Wherever he went, Noah seemed to be there and wanting to talk to him. He also saw Reid, but whenever he went to talk to him, Reid would just turn and leave. Luke knew people were gossiping around town.

He was also pretty sure that Noah had started most of the rumors going around that Reid had kicked him out or had cheated on him or something like that. Luke had yelled at Noah about it and Noah just kissed him, in public. Just another thing for everyone to gossip about and for it to get back to Reid.

When he reached Chicago it was dark. He found the hotel and quickly checked in, just wanted to sleep. But instead of sleeping, he decided to take a drive, find a bar to hang out in. He wasn't going to drink. No matter how much he wanted one, he was not going to.

Reid stood in the kitchen of the apartment, fixing a salad to go with the pizza he had ordered. He had Katie and Chris over for dinner. Something Katie had decided to do. She had invited them over without even talking to Reid about it first. Of course, he acted like he didn't like it but he really needed the company. He knew he should call and talk with Luke, he just was not ready too yet.

"Reid." Katie said, picking up his phone from the counter, "You have a missed call."

"It's probably from Luke, again."

"Still not talking to him?"

Reid nodded, "Go ahead and listen to it. It's probably just him saying what an ass I am."

"Well you are." Chris said, walking into the kitchen with a beer in his hand.

"I know that." Reid retorted, "I'll call him tomorrow to talk."

"What's your voice mail pass?" Katie asked

"Luke." Reid replied

"Really?" Chris smiled, "Is his, your name?"

Reid nodded again, "It was his idea."

There was silence as Katie listened to the missed call from Luke. Suddenly she gasped and covered her mouth with her hand. Both Reid and Chris looked at her, waiting for her to say something. She hit the end button and placed the phone back onto the counter.

"If you don't want to lose him you better talk to him now."

"What did it say?" Chris asked as Reid picked up his phone to listen himself.

"He's going to Chicago for the weekend, and when he gets back he's calling Tom to file for divorce."

They both looked at Reid as he slowly placed his phone on the counter. He was just staring at the counter top, not saying a word. Neither Chris nor Katie knew what to say to him. Well they did, they just already knew they had said it so many times to him, they didn't know if it would work. Suddenly, Reid's phone starting ringing, making them all jump. Reid looked at the caller id and answered.

"Hello?"

"Mr. Oliver?"

"Yes."

"This is officer Foreman with the Chicago P.D."

Reid froze and the officer continued.

"I'm calling to tell you that your husband has been in a serious car accident."

"What... what happened?"

"A truck cut across his path and slammed him into a brick wall."

Reid felt the phone slip from his hands and crash to the floor. Chris and Katie ran around the counter to catch him from falling as well. Chris picked up the phone when he knew that Katie had a hold of Reid to keep him balanced. The call had ended after the phone hit the floor.

"Reid, what's wrong?" Katie asked

"Luke... he... he uh..." Reid couldn't bring himself to talk.

Then his phone rang again and Chris answered.

"Hello?"

"Mr. Oliver?"

"No, this is his friend, Chris Hughes."

"Oh, well I was just telling him about his husband's accident."

"What kind of accident?"

"His car was slammed into a brick wall by a truck. He's been in surgery for about two hours now."

"In Chicago?"

"Correct."

"He's on his way now."

Chris hung up and turned to Reid and Katie. Katie was watching him but Reid was having a panic attack and looking ahead. Chris stood in front of Reid, placing his hands on his shoulders.

"Reid, you need to calm down. We're going to drive you to Chicago, okay."

Reid just nodded and Chris turned to Katie.

"Luke was in a car accident. Call Lily and Holden."

They all left the apartment and got into Chris' car, heading for Chicago. While they were driving, Katie, who was sitting in the back seat called Lily and Holden and told them. She then called Tom and Margo who were babysitting Jacob and told them they needed to keep him over night and then told them why.
