18th oath of Moment: Victory and Pain

Dec 25, 2011 23:05

[ Sun rises over Mayfield on December 25th. Christmas, though it means nothing to this secular warrior. He'd won this time. Fought against the town's illusions, from Torgaddon, to the deceit surrounding his beloved friends, he had fought demon, sorcerer, heretic, and even titan. He was victorious, unyielding. [ Warren is exiting the hardware store in town with a bagfull of ammo for his gun when he spots Garviel. The face is familiar, but it's the armor that gives him pause. That is impressive, and warren can't help but stare for a moment. Yes, this is definitely someone he wants to stay on the good side of. ]

You don't look so well.

Just passing pain, ser. Think nothing of it. [ He takes a welcome moment to stop, feeling the painkiller injector of the plate kick in, numbing the agony of his side with narcotics. ]

We've already established that I'm no doctor, but you might want to get that looked at.

My body recovers, I will do so soon enough, though. But there are few doctors worth of trust within this place.

[After her wonderful morning with Fate and Vivio, Arf had someone else she needed to find. It took her a while to track Garviel down while in wolf form, and the scent she picked up worried her. Blood. She smelled blood, but she also smelled something foul. She generally associated such foul scents with poison, but Garviel should be able to handle poison, so what was it ( ... )

You're right, Arf. I am. I fought an army of daemons commanded by a sorcerer for the sake of my Oath-sworn, for all my companions here. All of those the town claimedto be fake. [ Which means he fought for her, as well, but he won't say that outright. His voice is soft, no resentment in it. He is capable of understanding, of empathy. That's what made him different from his Space Marine brethren. Why they said he was so very human. ]

So that's what that foul scent was...

[Arf closed the distance and put her hands on the armor, as if that would give her a sense of how injured he was.]

[ He doesn't react poorly, he lets her touch him, half turning to look down at her, his face pale, and craggy, expression stoic as always. ]

Arf....

[ The wound is pretty severe, he's stable but it was repeatedly aggravated by continual fighting, and the daemon-blade itself was inimical to him in some way. ]

...the hell happened to you? [ Touma had been out walking, trying to clear his head, trying to find those who were on that list from the other day since he had avoided so before. Thus far his discoveries have been... poor.

And now he isn't sure what he's staring at, with the huge man injured like that. Did he try to kill people because of the second announcement? The though causes his hands to tense into fists in his pockets. ]

I fought a sorcerer, and Daemon, and a foolish young girl piloting some form of advanced Titan.

[ His chainsword also says Bad Motherfucker in high gothic. ]

They were attempting to murder the "fakes" I will always oppose anyone doing the town's bidding, for surely our the masters of this place mean us only ill.

[ Touma can dig it. Except the part where he said "I" and not "I and others" or "we". ] ... did you do all that alone? Why didn't you try going for help? [ Says the boy who couldn't lay a finger on any of those forces; not as he is, if ever. ]

I guess I should be glad that you stood up to them, but don't try to be the only hero.

All of my usual allies had chosen to.... replace themselves. [ There is a tremendous degree of bitterness in his voice. ]

I'm not a hero, I'm only a soldier. If I had more time I would have called out my Lord, but he was.... changed by the town.

Also, there wasn't much time. The Sorcerer had come for Mamzel Tohsaka, and I was all that stood in the way. [ Nevermind the fact that Cu Chulainn and Murderpuppy were totally in the house too, they were all dealing with EMOTIONS and things, whilst Garvi was dealing with face-punching demons. ]

[ It wasn't a very normal day (but when is it ever in Mayfield) when Garviel passed Tsunade. The medic could easily see how injured he was. It wasn't a sightly thing, but, with a number of supplies Tsunade robbed blindly from the hospital it was something she could accomplish, even with tools as limited as these. ]

Oi, oi, where the fuck do you think you're going? Your injured! [ ....y e p. What a totally nonconfrontational to convince someone they should be healed by you! ]

.... Yes, but my body recovers. Are you an Apothecary?

I'm not exactly an apothecary but I am a medic. Now, are you going to be walking with those gaping open wounds or are you going to take my generous offer and get the hell inside? Don't worry, I have supplies in here. [ casual hospital raids lalalalala. ]

They've been bound, thank you, but I could do with a more thorough going over, most likely.

[ He'll allow the shorter female to escort him. Garviel isn't too proud to get a bit of medicine now and then. ]
