Adventures in Parenting #421 - The Knitting CirclesAnd by Knitting Circles, I mean the other mom's that bring their kids to the park and sit aroung chatting. So today around 2 pm, I went over to one of the mother's houses that I met last week - I had some things to drop off and figured I could see if she wanted to take her kids to the park. Don't worry, Hon. You'll find the snarky moms and not just the ones on LJ. They'll be the ones playing with their kids at the park between 4-6PM trying to tire them out after their nap while all the Stepford wives are home cooking dinner. Oy.

Yes, I too failed Housewife 101, but that's okay because Beaky certainly hasn't passed Breadwinner 101 or SuperDad 101. We're doing just fine with our quirky little life, thanks. Just remember, normal is boring. ;-)

That said, I really ought to fold the laundry that's been hanging out in the baskets since last week.

*waves back* *finally*

Sorry to be so out of touch. End of year madness. Less than four hours till my cherubs are mine all mine all summer! (So, if I didn't finally reply now, it'd probably be September...;-)

Things are going well, just hectic.

Hope life and work are treating you well!

Glad you're doing well enough to keep up with all your hectic goings on, at the very least! *g* Don't worry about responding. It was just nice to see you're still about in one form or another! ;o>

We're supposed to cook? *blinks*

Sadly, I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm quite the oddity in my neighborhood because hubby does all the cooking. It still comes up at many get togethers that yes, I'm capable of cooking, but I choose not to. Hubby is a much better cook, so he takes care of it. I'm also looked at askance because I'm not all that interested in decorating, cleaning and you know, other "wifely" stuff. My neighbors have gotten used to it, though. And Nova88 is right - you'll find other moms out there like you. They really do exist!

I know! Boomer and I have our own division of housework that seems to work well and our home is livable but certainly not model. I'll take some dirty and my sanity, thanks. :)

gonna be honest, yes I often cook dinner for hubby "when he gets in from work" he'll get home at 6, and because we eat as a family I'll start cooking something somewhere between 5-6 (yes, shock horror, I'm lazy and he has to wait for his dinner!!)

As for cleaning, forget it... Hubby's given up nagging me about it, he knows I just don't do it!

I do cook something most days - who ever's home first usually starts something, but it's never a meal that takes hours to cook.

Yeah, we're not clean freaks. And I feel bad everytime I go to other people's homes and see how clean they are, but we just aren't very neat people. We clean every once in a while, but mostly everything is well lived in.

Welcome! I'm glad Wendy pointed you this way :) I've been watching Supernatural as well--not religiously but enough to certainly appreciate the pretty possibilities with the boys. VM ate my brain last season and as you can see I tend to blather on about life as a mommy these days.
