Rules of the Game

Updated April 19th, 2011.

❧ Players are to be kind, courteous, and respectful to each other. Should a problem arise that you feel cannot be worked out between players, please contact a mod.

❧ Additionally, personal drama must stay out of the RP. If an issue is interfering in the game, try to resolve it privately, and if that is not working, contact a mod.

❧ God-modding is not permitted. A player can only control another player's character if they have first obtained the other player's express permission to do so.

❧ Fourth-walling other characters will not be permitted. Even if one player in a fandom consents to it, it isn't fair to those who are also in said fandom and don't wish to be fourth-walled, or for those who will join in later. We understand that there are characters with knowledge of other canons, and they can reference them in their conversations so long as no one from that canon is in the game. For example, the Doctor from Doctor Who knows about Star Trek (and has even been called Spock and Dr McCoy on two separate occasions!) but the moment any character from Star Trek appears in-game, he'll act as if he's meeting that person for the first time and without any knowledge of what happens in that canon.

❧ Players with two or three characters, either in the same fandom or no, are discouraged from threading with themselves. Your characters may be aware of each other in off-screen interactions, but taking those interactions to entries is frowned upon. After all, you're here to play the game with other people!

❧ Characters should be IC at all times. Naturally character development can (and will) happen over time, but it must be reasonable and realistic. Also, all IC writing should adhere the standard of writing exemplified in the applications. Obviously typos happen to everyone, but typos and bad grammar or especially bad characterization shouldn't be the most obvious feature of anyone's posts.

❧ Concrit is love, and helping other players improve is very welcome here. However, any flaming or harassment of other players will not be tolerated.

❧ Activity checks will be held monthly on the 14th of June, July, and August for this second season. Characters who are on a hiatus noted on the Hiatus post during the activity check will be exempted from responding. Players will have one week to respond to the Activity Check post that has been put in the OOC comm, and from there, a follow-up post will be put up where players will have three additional days to check in before they are removed from the game.

❧ Each month, characters are expected to either:
    • Make at least one post or log and comment to at least two threads (or logs) in the posts of others.
    • Comment to at least five threads (or logs) in the posts of others.
❧ This is a community-based game, so please keep IC first-person posts in the main community, third person logs in the log community, and OOC posts in the OOC community. Your IC entries should be tagged with your character's tag, which the mods will create upon your acceptance to the game. Tags will be in the format of [Fandom] Character (Original/Alternate), such as: [ouran] suou tamaki (ou).

❧ Luministi is a het/yuri/yaoi-friendly game. However, any explicit adult content should be posted behind a cut and include a warning. Also, no adult content involving a character who is a minor will be allowed.

❧ When posting in the log community, use the following template for your posts:

    Characters:
    Location:
    Time:
    Summary:
    Warnings:

❧ And lastly...have fun! That's what RP is for, after all :)
