"I won't become as dumb as some and succumb to scum"

Ah Eminem, I have been listening to his first album Infinite (excellent album) - made in the mid Nineties, back when he was writing genuinely clever, unoffensive maybe even sweet, positive/inspirational raps, like this one which is called "It's Ok"

Of course commercially this stuff never got him anywhere, (flopped big time).

Unwisely I then thought ( Read more... )

there's a guy at my work who I figured was closeted. He is married, but misogynistic, and when he wanted someone to get a waiter's attention, he said "grab his ass" :O he is pretty enthusiastic about seeming manly. the guy's so bitter... I can't deal with him

Oh my yes I love ppl like that :(

Half the boys at school were like that and to be honest if their facebooks are any reflection then half of them still are. Sorry and sad.

Lol well I'm glad that you're at least interested, somehow I expected poor reaction to this. I dunno why, paranoia I guess.

I was annoyed when Elton John slagged off Moby - because Moby had slagged off Eminem for being homophobic. Is Elton so desperate to seem trendy that he intentionally puts on his "la-la-la, I can't hear you" headphones? Or maybe he just wants to shag Eminem....

Then again, if I hear Elton John, I wish for "la-la-la, I can't hear you" headphones myself.

I concur with that statement, I've never got Elton John really. I mean the reality is that you cannot deny that Eminem is offensive in all the ways people say he is. But the reality is that removing him wouldn't erase these attitudes in society so it's like redundant to be like this shouldn't be allowed.

I'd rather people spoke free.

I'd just rather that people stopped buying his records to teach him thats its not big and it's not clever. I just want him to go back to his old rapping, his first album was so damn good and the raps are witty and in your face and yet not offensive.

It really can be done
But it's never popular.

I mean that he does all of this whilst being the faggiest man ever really makes it all pretty darkly funny in places. Since he's so delusion about his own masculinity and clearly sexually confused and he's in such denial about it.

I mean its so obviously there, I've listened to all his stuff and it pervasively pops up again and again.

Oh indeed so! Mark Simpson (yeah, I know, my usual rent-a-quote-homo) even wrote something about how gay Eminem is.

And then he did this pose:
