Yeah, tell me about it. Man, I was so down yesterday because of it... Not nice, not nice at all.

Haha, you could. If you ever got over your fear of travelling?

D: I sorry... if you ever visit, we'll play amtgard? I'll get all kinds of furs we can dress in and we can beat each other senseless with a crowd of other vikings. >_

*pets* I'm so sorry to hear that, darling. ;_; That totally sucks. I guess the only thing I can say is that sometimes two years seems like forever, but they fly by faster than you'd think? It's not a great comfort, I know-might not even be a comfort at all-but hej, maybe you will get the chance to go this year or the next, who knows? Life is weird like that. *hugs*

Oh well, this way I have the time to participate in the Midsommar festivities at our institute.
...which still cannot compare with thousands of Swedes running around dressed as Vikings and celebrating Midsommar how it IS SUPPOSED TO BE CELEBRATED.

Who knows, but I won't travel such a long distance from Stavanger to Malmö just for that (~977 km). I would have loved to go because it's pratcially just around the corner from where I live now ;0;

And you had to hand in the applications yesterday. I DIDNT KNOW THERE WERE APPLICATIONS NEEDED WHEN I CHECKED. And thus of course I couldn't find anyone who would -accompany me- And I won't and can't go alone to this all on my own... sigh. Besides, I don't have a Viking costume.... HAD I KNOWN IT WAS A CLOSED LARP SESSION OH GOD. HAD I JUST KNOWN BEFORE. *whine whine whine*

How're you doing? *squeezes you*

DUDE, I, uh, I just woke up, and I had a dream. I dreamed that we were raising a baby long-distance, like he was in Israel but you were the co-parent, and putting pictures of him online and stuff in this rate-my-baby site or whatever. And our baby, okay, it wasn't the prettiest baby or the cutest or the cuddliest; in fact it was a pretty ugly, fierce kind of baby, and it got really low ratings. Then one day we decided to nickname him 'Skodbaby' (????????) and put a Viking helmet on it. And just: BAM. Instant popularity and internet fame. It turned into the most badass, most desired baby EVER.

...

I just, what, I have no idea, man. Just... I got nothing. I don't even know wtf 'Skod' means, if anything; I went to sleep at like 3am after studying and woke up at 6 in the morning and, uh, I refuse to be held responsible for my dreams. But seriously, dude, WTF, I don't even know.

...okay, that was your bite-sized dose of early morning bizarreness, now we can go back to the previous topic. *squeeze*

Skod sounds like a bastardisation of the name "Scott".
...
HOW THE HECK WERE WE ABLE TO HAVE A BABY TOGETHER. Whaaat?
xD But if we ever did, totally going to do that. I WANT INTERNETFAME. lmao.
Reading that makes me laugh out loud, pfffffffhahaha. Skodbaby...oh dear. (And only mothers can love ugly children, oh yeah~)

skodd or skodde (similarity with eng. shade, germ. Schatten):
Danish back water, shutter
Norwegian fog, mist

See also: skode (norr skoða; similarity with *skjøne) to look after sth., turn eyes towards sth.

Interesting... Might give your dream a little bit more meaning. Tho... not much.

D: No! But you know, next year when you come and live here, I'd be happy to inform you there is a large viking thing not TOO many hours away from Stavanger, in the summers, and we could go there? :O

http://www.vikingfestivalen.no/

it's not as big as the one in Denmark and the one in Sweden you were talking about, at least I don't think so, but it could be cool?
