Summary: Because one lazy genius would likely forget his own birthday (or at least, pay it no heed), Ino took it upon herself to throw a nice warm birthday dinner for him.

[Oh right, the birthday boy should probably tag in, huh.

Likely one of the last ones to the party, Shikamaru isn't too excited to see there is a party. Though he may have expected Ino would so something like this - it's like she lives to make things just a tiny bit more troublesome.

But it's still thoughtful, and while he could care less about his birthday, he's grateful to have people who do. The grumpiness won't last for long - especially as soon as he sees the food.]

[LIKELY THE RESPONSE EVERYONE WILL GET, AT SOME POINT. For the food, and for coming... though there's a couple people he's never even met.

[All right, let's get to grilling this fish. Ace let's a few flames come gently from his hand, carefully lighting a barbeque near him. After it's heated up, he places the mackerel for grilling.
