Likely one of the last ones to the party, Shikamaru isn't too excited to see there is a party. Though he may have expected Ino would so something like this - it's like she lives to make things just a tiny bit more troublesome.

But it's still thoughtful, and while he could care less about his birthday, he's grateful to have people who do. The grumpiness won't last for long - especially as soon as he sees the food.]
