Summary: Because one lazy genius would likely forget his own birthday (or at least, pay it no heed), Ino took it upon herself to throw a nice warm birthday dinner for him.

[You didn't invite him. You barely know him. You probably don't even want him. But birthday food is too much to pass up, so Ling will be in attendance, sitting readily for the food, big smile on his face. He didn't bring a present.

Given this is a party full of ninjas, they may or may not have spotted him coming in through the window, even though he can be pretty ninja too.]

[ She can't recall ever seeing Ling on the invite list, or Ino referencing anyone that looked like this. She said for this to be close company only, and, the lack of present was also something that pinged her instincts.

But, being new to this place and not knowing what Shikamaru has been up to or how many guys Ino may have flirted with she'll still walk over and ask him anyways. ]

You're a friend of Shikamaru's right?

[Oh, who the heck is this? And who is Shikamaru? Ling just smiles anyway.]

Not yet, but I'm sure we'll get along just fine.

[ Tenten lets out an obviously irritated sigh at Ling's boldness about crashing the party, she still keeps her cool because she doesn't want to taint the party with a fight.

She then looks at this from a more realistic situation. She could either send him to Ino and have him end up staying anyways because he probably would be able to pass Ino's standards of a man, or, she'd cause a huge scene. She can't have him eating Shikamaru's food either though. Those were reserved for actual guests and just not uncouth party nomads.

But the fact that he doesn't even bother to hide it jars Tenten, to the point where she needs to get this straight once more. ]

So you're at a birthday party for someone you don't even know?

[Ace arrives in the kitchen some time later (maybe an hour or so), with plenty of fish. Probably enough for Luffy to have as a snack. He knocks on the kitchen door before opening it slightly, and brings in a bucket full of various kinds of fish. He soon notices Law and stops.]

--Law? You're helping out, too? [He looks at the various foods around.] Would you like some help?

[Oh boy. First off, he'll get one of the smaller fish, and put Sumire over in a corner with it. Hopefully that will keep her distracted for a while. He walks back over, washes his hands, and helps gut the fish.

They'll.....get to Ace's later. HE PROBABLY GOT TOO MUCH FOOD AGAIN.] Busy, huh?

No really he's here (maybe even with Shikamaru!!) to party. Oh yeeeah]

[Once she saw Masaomi partying with them, Ino gives him a smirk smile.]

Of course, of course Ino-chan! It would be hard not to.

Because you're an obvious fan of parties? [Or is it because of someonething else?]

[ Of course, Tenten's life has taken a turn from the strange (being tossed from war into a quaint little town) to the outright bizarre (it's now september and it's Shikamaru's birthday today and Ino's tomorrow). But, she'll be making sure her recent time adjusting isn't visible. With this, she'll try to blend into every day customs, and will be checking up on the guests quite frequently to see if they need anything. ]

Hey! Do you need anything else? Food, water, sharpened utensils? [ She'll offer a more friendly and carefree grin. Being accommodating wasn't all that hard to Tenten, but weaving out her love for weaponry is. ] If you need anything just let me know, okay?

[ There's no way she's going to be dead weight to Ino so she'll attempt to be the best hostess ever! ]

[Ino's also busy tending to the guests like the good hostess (and friend) that she is when she catches Tenten being just as good. Because she can never be better!! Giving the other girl a cheery wave, she acknowledges her hard work.]

You're doing great over there!

[ WELL TENTEN'S CANON TRAIT IS ACCOMMODATING.. She'll nod and fold her hands, smiling at Ino's hard work. ]

I'm just trying to pull my weight around here. You're doing really well at this party!

[YEAH. WELL. INO'S FRIENDLY. She gives him a cheeky wink from where she's standing.]

[Because this is before the world ends, Katara is here! And she comes bearing gifts! Since... her present is not of the kind where it is exactly portable. Her gifts basically amount to a pineapple and some soda. Because you can never have too much soda at a party.

She gets there a little early so as to not spoil the surprise and help set up if needed. Once the actual party starts, she'll be doing what she can to help out - and just walking around with soda in-hand to meet all the new people!]

[Spotting the girl going around the party, Ino approaches her and gives her a bright smile.]

I'm really glad you can come tonight, Katara. [Since she knows all about her uncomfortable feeling before the draft.]

I wouldn't miss it. [So many issues, most of which are resolved... they won't keep her away.]

I think it was really nice of you to do for him. How old is he now?

I'd practically do anything for him. [Because they're her teeeaaaam. Except maybe if they make her wear some ugly dress or something.] Oh, and he's already seventeen.

[And a wink.] But still complains like a twelve year old.
