[As for Masaomi's time in his cell... well. He's trying to make some noise just to remind himself he's not dead. It's relatively dark, and while he doesn't recall the experiments he's done out of it - or indeed gotten a good look at any guards - he is in here, tapping repeatedly on the walls with his knuckles. One two three, one two three.

No one has been in his cell with him most of the time. But that's free to change and there might be people near or around him]

[Keimi winces from the sound of the tapping, it stirring her from her sleep. She looked around. This cage. Still. It's been nearly a week since she was first taken here. The shock and depression slowly fading, she decides to investigate the noise in the next cell.]

H-hello...?

[Still tapping. He thought he heard a voice so he stops for a few seconds but... nope, tapping again]

[Gelda's been kidnapped for quite some time now, she knows that much. Two weeks? Three? She's lost count of the exact days. Being heavily drugged and losing consciousness every so often can do that to a person. Yet, whenever she's sensible enough to form coherent thoughts, all that's on her mind is whether she's worrying the ones who are close to her. Her friends, her former students, her current students... Regal...

Surely, the Malnosso must be done with her soon. Surely.

Carefully, she pushes herself to her feet and wanders towards the door. It's taking her quite a bit of effort and she needs to hold onto the wall for support with both hands. A groan escapes her when a massive surge of pain spreads through her head for a few seconds, but she treks on. Perhaps she can peer through the window in the door and into the cell across the hall.]

[Across the cell this time is someone who's been here about as long as she has, though it's not often he's seen her upright or out of the hands of the droids. Often as he's looking out his own window, it doesn't take long to notice the face across the hall.

He raises his voice enough so that he can hopefully be heard.] You all right?

[Well. Gelda's in luck; there's actually someone out there. She's sure she's seen him around the village before, but he's not a student. At his question, she gives a vague nod. Doing so any more firmly would just give her another headache.]

I'm... fine. And you?

[From somewhere across the hall, a sleepy voice slurs the words of a song.]

Away, hey, haul away, we'll ho-- [the voice cracks and starts the word over] --hooold for bet-ter weather...

[Shikamaru scoots himself up against the cell door, angling his head to get a better view of the guy.]

Heh. Think you might be out of tune there.

Hmm? [Squinting, trying to sit up a bit, banging his knee hard on one of the bars without noticing, lying back down.] Isscha cage. Don't...whozzat?

mallynap starts august 10th. semi-hiatus ergo will be tagging slowly!

[ after the first couple of days, it isn't the pain that gets to buffy summers. it's the sound. the sickening sound of her own fist hitting concrete. her knuckles have been bloodied and healed over and bloodied again for more times than she cared to count and she'd only been gone since the tenth. after the twelve, the power cap is increased. the bludgeoned damage stops healing so quickly. it forces her to pace her protests more carefully.

she is not a model prisoner. some people back in the village might believe that the slayer has gone soft but she was still a hard sort of young woman. all reaction and guts and anger and she has people to get back to.

if anyone tries to strike up a conversation with her, she will at first be reticent. if anyone is temporarily tossed into her cell with her, she will be cool. this is warrior mode. gone is the superficially cheerful social butterfly.

the slayer wants war; she wants to hold someone accountable. ]

[The sound of someone pounding incessantly has finally gotten a certain prisoner roused out of bed. In a terribly bad mood, too.

She kicks the wall hard, shouting.]

Will you stop that?! Some of us are trying to sleep!

[ at that voice there is such a pregnant pause. filled with all kinds of things. buffy is by no means scared. grell doesn't scare her the way she seems to scare jack. but there is a healthy dose of wonder and wariness. she slips a few inches closer to the wall and listens.

says nothing. ]

[When the pounding stops, Grell fumes for a moment more and kicks the wall again before turning away. Ugh, her head... She grabs it and slides down with her back against the wall, head in hands.]

[Nami knows the Malnosso are doing something to her. She has no clue what, but her periods of absence are marked on her return with a lot of delirious fever dreams, and when she finally wakes up she just feels so tired.

But apart from that, nothing. Just in a normal cell. No other restraints, but after her very first visit here, she doesn't try anything like picking the locks. (Of course, after her very first visit here, certain jailers wised up and stripped anything from her that could remotely be used as a lockpick, so there you go.)

Honestly, she just doesn't care anymore. She'll go back eventually. It's a pity she's on her own, but maybe she'll just pretend it's a vacation.

In any event, intermittently Nami is humming. Reasonably cheerfully, at that. Bink's Sake. She might be glad her nakama went home, but it doesn't stop her from missing them.

All of them.

Well, maybe she'll be lucky and share a cell at some point.]

[Keimi blinks as she hears the sound of a very familiar song. At first, she thinks she's imagining it, but it instantly brings her back to the day she met the Straw Hats. The whole crew together, along with her and Pappug, listening happily to Brook play that song. To her, it was nearly three years since that day, but she still remembers it as one of the best days of her life. Looking back on those memories where the closest think to soothing she could find while sitting in this dank cell, to the point where it brings a tear to her eye. Well, whether she's imagining this or not, she's going to hum along.]

[It's some time before Nami's aware she has accompaniment, and then she blinks. But she doesn't stop. Female voice. Vivi? Keimi?

...did Robin come back?

Her voice falters for just a moment, and then she starts singing, albeit still quietly:]
