[It is your typical hot Sunday and Katara is doing what any sensible person should be -- drinking lemonade on the porch.

[Sokka has been conspicuously absent all morning. He finally shows up later in the day, looking fairly worn out from running around getting things set up. He's trying not to look it as he comes up on the house.]

Heeeeeeeeeeey, Katara.

[She eyes him suspiciously. Get your own lemonade, dude!

She smiles.]

Hey, Sokka. What's up?

[Pre-Party]

[Sokka gives something of a shrug.]

Not much, not much. I need your help, though.

[Sanji is definitely lurking around, seeing as this party includes both a crew mate and a dear friend. Once he sets up his own cake (for Nami, though technically it could be for any of the three) he mingles around, keeping a close eye out for Katara but making sure to avoid Sokka. If he can get away without making eye-contact with the boy once, it'll be a miracle.]

[Katara still finds it a little bit hard to believe that it's actually her birthday. Her birthday is supposed to be surrounded by snow and ice and in the dead of winter, where the sun just shines for a few hours and the moon reigns on high.

But Sokka's reasons made sense, and all these people turned out to celebrate with her and Nami... so she is trying her best to go along with it. Fifteen? Really? They'd been there that long?]

Hi, Sanji!

[Yeeeeeeeeeeey it's a Katara!

Sanji bounds over to her, looking particularly giddy now that he's found her]

Katara-chwaaan~! Happy birthday~! ♥

[Katara raises an internal eyebrow at you, Sanji. Dude, you are so weird sometimes. And she lifts up her hand to cover her mouth as she giggles.]

Thanks, Sanji. [She shrugs a little.] I didn't even know - it was my birthday!

[After rounding up Katara, Sokka is just hanging out at the party. He'll go talk to people usually, engage in rounds of volleyball, maybe even swim for awhile. He always manages to be on the opposite end of the festivities as Sanji. Coincidence!?]

[Arriving a little late, despite promising to help with the set up, Winry attempts to slip in. Yet another case of over sleeping. She was up so late last night, she'll apologize. In her hands she has a cardboard box about the size of Sokka's head. The only thing indicating it's a present is the shiny blue bow at the top. When Winry slips in she spots Sokka, and heads right over to him. She doesn't know Katara's friends that well - heck, she only knows Katara herself a little bit - so Winry will be Sokka's ball-and-chain for the party.]

Hey!

[Sokka won't hold it against you. In fact, he mostly forgot to round up people to help. However, having Winry along is a nice break from having to oversee the party and avoid a certain someone. He brightens up as he hears her and turns for a greeting.]

You made it Winry! [He pauses for a moment and narrows his eyes.] You're not going to slip away this time, are you? [He remembers HIS party, after all.]

[Here's another party-lurker. In fact, he's literally only here to manage his S. Links talk to Katara and ignore any of the actual festivities of the event. This really isn't his thing, but it's probably a good idea to at least say hi, right? He's not particularly busy at the moment anyway, so it should be okay to do that much.

...but that doesn't mean other people can't bother him anyway, before he makes his escape.]

[Sometime mid-way into the party, Katara spots Caesar and runs over with a smile.]

Hey, Caesar!

[Oh, she's in a good mood. Their last conversation had been a serious one, so it was kind of nice to see her acting a bit more cheerfully today. Caesar nods at her.]

Hey. Uh... Happy birthday. How is everything so far?

Well - [So far, she's gotten a swimsuit and found out that something's wrong between her brother and Sanji. But! Everyone's alive and having fun.] - so far, so good! How long has Sokka been planning this, do you know? I didn't even know it was my birthday! It's kind of weird.

[Oh yeah, this party's for her, too :|a Although she's less inclined to celebrate it this year, but combined ones are fun. Brought you a gift, Katara. |D So she'll look for you at some point.

Otherwise, Nami is cheerfully mingling with anyone she knows and some she doesn't know, because distraction is always fun and it's been a while since she's had the chance to just be sociable. And filching some of Sanji-kun's cake. And ...watching some of the interesting social dynamics going on.

Apart from that? Swimming is definitely in the cards.]

Well, in either case, Sanji will eventually find his way to Nami and begin his usual mating call]

[Good lord, yes she can. Good thing you can't overdose on those things. >_> And it just so happens that she did wear a bikini under that summer dress, because she will definitely be in the water at the point Sanji finds her, dress neatly folded away from the river's edge.

The extra-sparkly mating call of the wild Sanji is enough to make her lips twitch up, but she'll smooth that desire to laugh into a wide smile as she wrings the excess water from her pigtails. Because every bikini icon has pigtails, ssh.]
