[...And guess who decided to go and invite himself? Well, he knows Katara, but never said anything about coming when Toph made the annoucement fufu. He's looking around for the birthday girl, but lingers suspiciously close to where the food was. He's just observing the party, that's all, yep.]

[And Katara leaves the lake, bends herself dry, and pads over to the tables for some more food. She spots a wild! Mystery Dog.]

Oh - hello!

[His ears twitch when he hears her voice. He turns to look at her, tail wagging]

Woof!

[She smiles and bends down a little to be on more 'eye level' with the dog.]

Did you come for the party? That was very nice of you.

[The river south of town is on of Hitsugaya's regular haunts. So he's here by accident. Complete accident and, he swears, if he's called out on it, he'll leave. For once, he's not carrying his sword -- it's a birthday party -- and not wearing the usual shinigami robes.

Gods, it was a bad idea to come down here. (Except it was by accident. Really.) So he'll just weave his way through people, head for the food -- why not? -- and be on his way to a quieter part of the river. But first, he really should at least say hello to Katara. Maybe even seek out this Nami person he's had a couple conversations with, but hasn't seen in person.

Or just leave. Just leaving sounds good, too.]

[Dude, you can not just leave. This is a splash. It is a playful splash with only a very small amount of bending behind it. And it is headed in your direction.]

[Playful splash or not, that's still something headed in his direction. He's not startled and he knows good and well that's Katara, but he's not going to just stand there and let the water hit him. (Even though he'd actually welcome a cool splash of water.) A flick of his wrist puts up a kidou shield, and he gives Katara a raised eyebrow. Try harder next time, Katara.]

Hey, Hitsugaya!

[Since she doesn't know either Nami or Roku, Diana hangs back at the edge of the party, looking for Katara so she can greet the birthday girl.]

[Katara. Is nomming on cake. Mmmm, it's delicious. She spots Diana on the edge of the crowd and waves enthusiastically before setting the cake down and coming over.]

Diana! Hi!

[She waves back, holding a small package in her other hand.]

Happy birthday, Katara. Are you having fun at your party?

Yes! It's such a surprise - [laughs] - I didn't even know it was my birthday! You should come have some cake!

[Because she put hers aside to come and talk with you, and man it was good. So she'll just be leading her back towards the table if Diana indicates that she'll follow along.]

[Oh, that won't do! Katara excuses herself from the conversation she was having and works her way over to Minato with a smile.]

Hey, Minato! I'm glad to see you.

[A shrug and a wry smile.] Thanks. It was a total surprise. I'm used to my birthday being in January.
