Summary: After several birthdays had passed, a birthday PARTY is arranged for those who missed theirs. At the river!

[After rounding up Katara, Sokka is just hanging out at the party. He'll go talk to people usually, engage in rounds of volleyball, maybe even swim for awhile. He always manages to be on the opposite end of the festivities as Sanji. Coincidence!?]

[Arriving a little late, despite promising to help with the set up, Winry attempts to slip in. Yet another case of over sleeping. She was up so late last night, she'll apologize. In her hands she has a cardboard box about the size of Sokka's head. The only thing indicating it's a present is the shiny blue bow at the top. When Winry slips in she spots Sokka, and heads right over to him. She doesn't know Katara's friends that well - heck, she only knows Katara herself a little bit - so Winry will be Sokka's ball-and-chain for the party.]

Hey!

[Sokka won't hold it against you. In fact, he mostly forgot to round up people to help. However, having Winry along is a nice break from having to oversee the party and avoid a certain someone. He brightens up as he hears her and turns for a greeting.]

You made it Winry! [He pauses for a moment and narrows his eyes.] You're not going to slip away this time, are you? [He remembers HIS party, after all.]

W-what makes you think that?

Well you did kind of do that on my birthday...

...That was different.

[markofthewise]

[He grins.]

I know, I know. Don't worry about it. [He looks down at the present she brought.] Whaddya bring for Katara?

[Winry carefully opens the box, and gestures for Sokka to look inside. The box contains a small copper fountain. Etched into the sides of the bowls are swirling designs meant to be waves. The pot at the top also has the wave designs, but a few flowers along with it.]

It's small enough to fit on a nightstand or dresser in her room. Do you think she'll like it?

[Color Sokka impressed. He nods approvingly.]

I bet she'll love it. You know, being a waterbender and all.

Great! Where should I put it?

[markofthewise]

Right over here.

[He'll lead her over to a place where presents are being set out. Time to change the subject now.]

So Winry. You planning on swimming?

[crytearsofjoy]

[She delicately places the box down, and gives the bow a pat before answering Sokka's question.] Yes. I even had to get a new swim suit. The black on I got last year and wore to the camping trip should have been replaced a while ago, but...

Oh. I kinda liked that one. [Wait, is it even appropriate to talk about that?] I uh, got some new shorts to swim in too!

[crytearsofjoy]

That's great, Sokka. [She starts pulling off her shirt - Don't worry, there's a pink bikini underneath it so she'll be decent.] Race me to the water?

[markofthewise]

[OH GOD SHE'S STRIPPING IN FRONT- oh. Okay. That's cool.]

Finally! Beach- well, river. River party! [And all at once, he pulls off his tunic and pants, so that he's just in the trunks he had on underneath.]

Ready... [Winry drops her skirt, and takes a head start. You better get moving, Sokka. She's on her way to the water.] Set, go!
