Veld woke up when the door opened. When he heard Hojo's voice and not the typical doctor, however, he snapped up and ignored the way his chest and stomach screamed at the action. Without a flinch, the ex Turk levelled his handgun at the doctor. His dark eyes narrowed down the sites.

"Can I help you?" He hissed, voice a bit breathy from the motion.

"I note-" Veld breathed labored and sore "-that you didn't say friend." Veld lowered his weapon but kept it close to him. "I'm perfectly fine as you can see. What do you want?"

Vincent had been in and out of Veld's hospital room significantly more than the man knew, he was certain--mostly because he was careful to duck in while Veld was asleep, and leave before he woke up. This time, of course, was no different ( ... )

When Vincent turned about he could see himself. Yes, it was Vincent Valentine, dressed in a Turk's suit with his short hair in that same sharp cut. He was leaned back in the chair with his tie just loose enough to be regulation and his arms crossed over his chest. The room smelled like old gunpowder.

Slowly, he lifted a hand and snapped the nail of his thumb under his front teeth. Yellow eyes gave the person away as clear as a brilliant neon sign. Those eyes drifted to the sleeping man on the bed. The voice was Vincent's as well, many years ago. Though Vincent's had never been so gleeful. "Let's smother him with a pillow."

Vincent jerked and froze in place the moment he saw the blue-suited figure seated where he'd been only moments before. Part of him insisted that no one had come in, he would have heard the door and felt the air shift and everything else. The majority of the rest screamed that that was him. Not him now, him as he was, as he should have been left to age from, as he wanted more than ever recently to be again.

One other part of him, quiet and level, pointed out the anti-reflection's eyes, and it was that which finally made Vincent set his jaw and straighten, not relaxing so much as falling back into familiarity.

"What are you doing here?" He growled, fully aware far too quickly of who--or rather what--he was talking to ( ... )

There was a dark chuckle from his old body. "You didn't miss me, Vince?" Chaos stretched out Vincent's long legs and then he sat up fully in the chair. "Alexander the Great Jackass put a call out, and as I'm on the naughty list still I'm supposed to show up and be of assistance."

Chaos then looked about the chair and snapped up a yellow decorative pillow and held it on his lap. "But I'd rather the whole place blow up." Chaos' first sentence hung in the air when he turned his head back to Veld's sleeping form and began to kneed the pillow like a cat.

Siira had only 'heard' a little bit but from what little she gathered from several sources, Veld had been injured. She had no doubt he'd still be around after so long, the man had an air about him that screamed: Impossible to kill. At least, not without dying yourself in the process.

Still, when she had found out, Siira had, unwittingly, made her way to the hospital. She hadn't had a chance to change out of her suit, but Siira didn't mind to much. This is how Turks were recognized and she'd have less trouble visiting if people saw that.

When she finally found his room, she saw him sleeping. The dark haired woman wasn't about to wake him up, so instead she took a seat and found a pen and paper, scribbling out a note.

Came by to visit you, but you were asleep. Heard you got banged up pretty bad Hope you're feeling better than whoever sent you here. than you were. Get well, 'kay?
SiiraNot exactly 'heartfelt' but it was something. She was sure Veld had plenty of other visitors to talk with. It was a shame she wouldn't get to talk with ( ... )

Veld opened his eyes at the sound of the pencil going down. He could see the hair, but maybe he didn't catch her. Still, in case she was within range, Veld spoke up. "Siira?"

So Tseng did put out the call. It wasn't a surprise that she was here.

Siira froze for a moment before looking up and smiling gently. Had she woken him up? Siira had tried to be quiet about it. She quickly got up and walked next to the bed.

"That's my name." She grinned but she stayed serious. "How're you feeling? Heard you got banged up pretty bad."

Veld wasn't the soundest sleeper, this much was certain. Obviously, Tseng had made the call and he wasn't just dreaming it. "I've been worse, been better."

He looked her over and smirked. It wasn't that Veld didn't expect the old Turk to return. Siira was always training, she was continually trying to better herself. This was going to be another test and he was glad to see her step up to it.

"I see that Tseng called you all in." He sat up, wondering how many times he was going to force himself to move when he really should be sleeping. "How have you been?"

Tifa had heard Veld had been hospitalized and she'd stopped off at a florist before making her way to the hospital, pausing to find out his room number. She entered the room quietly setting the vase on a table before moving to take a seat, just watching him sleep, not wanting to disturb him.

After a few moment, she stood to leave, the note with the flowers should be enough to let him know she'd stopped by.

Veld opened one eye at the sound of the vase and forced himself to sit up. "Sorry, I suppose I'm not good company."

He settled himself against the pillows slowly and adjusted himself again. The pain was bad, but Veld had felt worse. He cleared his throat before speaking to her again. "Tifa, it was, correct?"

"I don't think you're expected to be good company while you're recovering." Tifa turned back, giving him a faint smile before she moved to take a seat again.

"Yes, I'm Tifa."

"Aerith's friend." Veld responded softly. The girl he'd seen in action and via Tseng's reports. He hadn't expected a woman who could outslap Scarlet to be so soft in presentation.

"It's nice of you to swing by."

This was what normal people did, wasn't it? Visit a friend's parent in the hospital. Odd that it felt so strange.
