20th Gryffindor Note [Voice/Action]

Aug 24, 2010 09:03

I'd like to apologise to anyone I spoke to last week. I seemed to have believed that magic didn't exist and probably confused and upset a great number of you. I feel normal again, and if anyone needs anything at all, particularly magic- [She says it with a hint of amusement in her voice.] -I'd be happy to do what I can. I hope none of you suffered ( Read more... )

I'm going to be okay. Thank you, Hermione. You don't have to worry.

[That surely is a lot of information to take in. Tsuzuki looks like a fish out of water for a moment, wide-eyed and gaping.]

Can you choose what house you want to be in?

[Welcome to Hermione world, Tsuzuki. She does this a lot.]

I don't think so. The Sorting Hat chooses which House you're best suited for. I don't think it's ever been wrong.

[If he's not careful he might learn something. ;)]

You make it sound like there's differences between the houses. I thought they would all be the same, essentially.

[ Perish the thought. XD He could join the throngs who have learned something from her! ]

Well, they're all based on personality traits, specific ones. Gryffindors are generally the bravest, Ravenclaws the smartest and most logical, Hufflepuffs the hardest workers and most loyal, and Slytherins are... well, the general idea is that they're most cunning, but most people equate Slytherins with being most likely to save themselves over anyone else, though this isn't necessarily true all the time.

Oh. That makes sense. [He's quiet because, wow. From Hermione's description he just realized he wouldn't fit in any of the houses.]

I wonder why anyone would choose Slytherin house, then. It doesn't sound very cunning to be publicly known as the self-serving ones.

The hat wanted to place me in Ravenclaw, but decided ultimately on Gryffindor.

I don't know. It's also known for churning out Dark Wizards.

But if you're really curious, you ask Draco. He was in Slytherin.

Being brave and smart isn't a bad combination.

Huh.

If he's in Slytherin, and it's famous for creating dark wizards... Isn't it possible that he might turn into one?

No, it's certainly served us well in the past.

I used to. He and Harry were rivals of a sort for a long time because that was how Draco was raised. But here, I don't think he will. He got a taste of true Dark Arts wizards and I don't think he really liked it. [And then, quickly:] He probably wouldn't like to hear that, though.

I wasn't going to mention that to him! It's interesting that he and Draco used to not get along.

So, true dark wizards do the tough spells, then. Like the Unforgivables. Was Voldemort one of the worst ones?

It is odd to think about. Draco's the one who introduced me to the word 'Mudblood' and yet he and I struck up some sort of alliance first here, even before Harry arrived. [She sounds kind of amused by this.]

Yes. He and his Death Eaters used the Unforgivables whenever they felt like it.

It's not that strange, actually. You knew each other when you arrived here, so there was already a bond even though the bond sounds like it was based on a mutual dislike.

They can't be stopped? Or recognized, so you can avid them?

I suppose so. And with Draco and I being the only ones from our world here for a while, it was easier for change to happen.

[She pauses and then sighs.] It's more complicated than that.

It's a good thing he's one of those people that can change for the better.

Oh. I'm sorry. The spells are that strong?

I believe he is.

They can be avoided if you're paying attention, but they're very strong. If you're not aware, they can be used against you with ease.

I think so too. Otherwise I wouldn't think Hisoka would befriend him.

I don't think I'd be able to avoid one. Can people see if you're struck by one?
