What was your life like when you weren't involved with magic?

I never thought I'd say this, but it was a bit dull, really. I mean, I'd gotten into Cambridge and was attending school there, but I didn't believe in magic and denied it even existed. It was... a cold existence and I was much less friendly because of it. I prefer my life as a witch. If nothing else, I'm glad to have my friends as they are and I know I can help the world better as a witch.

A life without magic sounds pretty boring, yes. But there are some people that prefer it that way, because it's safe and predictable. I think you were lucky you met your friends. People need other people in order to live life to the fullest.

I did like it when it was the only thing I knew, but now that I have magic and I know I can help anyone less fortunate, even goblins and house-elves, then I want to do just that. I'm not happy just sitting here ignoring everything that's going on. My friends help me and that's how I live my life.
[Of course it'd all be much better if Voldemort and the Death Eaters were gone, but details.]
