Fics like what you suggest do exist. I've read many fics with consequences.
But when you get right down to it, well-written porn is tasty, even when it's pedestrian. People write what they enjoy, and ol' tab A + slot B fits the bill pretty handily.
Personally, I don't much like the trippy 'ethereal' sex. It always feels like the author is trying too hard. Kudos to those who pull it off, because I never could. I'll stick with my plain porn. :D
Now, a lot of people have Aziraphale and Crowley boffing like Bunnies with no conquences. Don't you think screwing a demon of your own presumed gender might be seen worse then screwing a normal human woman and look what God did to Azazel and Shemyazi for a little thing like that. So why are their no conquences? I'd like see a fic that shows messed up stuff happening as a result of this.
The trouble is, as far as canon goes? There's no sign anywhere that Heaven and Hell actually care what Crowley and Aziraphale actually get up to on earth. If you think about it, wouldn't being friends with each other in the first place, never mind moving on to a different sort of relationship, technically be grounds for punishment? Technically, it would be; however, this is a universe wherein Heave and Hell are huge, busy beaurocracies with no real sense of what their agents are actually doing Down There, nor do they actually, when all is said and done, care. That's why there aren't many Consequences stories: it's not logical within the constaints
( ... )
Hmmmm you're right, Maybe back it Azazel and Shemyazi's day there wasn't a beaurocracy so they got smacked down. Still it would be a good precautionary tale, for tempted Angels.
Times change, things change. And also, any given myth or piece of lore is, well, automatically obscure in origins. I imagine that, in the GO universe, it's likely that this piece of lore got made up somewhere along the way by humans rather than by angels.
Also why is the sex so physical so human? They are supernatural beings
Well, they are, but they have human bodies. Imperfect human bodies, even--at the end of the novel Aziraphale is disappointed that his new body is the same as the old one, which suggests that the old one had flaws. Admittedly, they do seem to have a good deal of control over those bodies (Crowley can change form, and they're both able to show or conceal their wings), but they're still physical creatures, tied to the flesh. I don't think they'd be able to have Miltonic angel-sex where it's all about mingling disembodied essences.
I do think that some A/C sex scenes are too crude, but to me that's more about their personalities (Aziraphale, in particular, is rather refined and a bit prudish--really not the sort to go for BDSM or orgies) than about their status as angels.

If you think about it, Crowley is pretty prudish, too. What's absolutely hilarious (and great) is that they're both, well, British gentlemen when it comes down to it. That's why the crudely-written/BDSM/strange-kink varieties of story generally read as so wildly OOC.
You know that if they ever got down to it in canon, there'd be a lot of throat-clearing and hogging of the teapot. Also possibly a few pauses to put on more clothing. *g*
Hee, yes, and you know, I'd like to think I've been conscientious of their little eccentricities in my own work *wry grin* The funny thing is, I can't see them getting up to things in the space the book itself takes place, but in the aftermath of canon? In my mind, that's where it logically happens. After surviving something like that and realizing, good God, this guy is still with me... That's the platform I work from all the time, anyway. They're so endearingly peculiar. It's good to know somebody else sees them that way, too :)
First of all I like well-done A/C, it's fun it's nifty, it's cute and sexy.
It just occurred to me that it's kind of ironic you should say that. In my experience, the stories I've read that I consider to be truly good - and yes, "Two Fish" is one of them - are the ones that manage to encompass all that they are, both painfully human and still essentially eternal creatures, and still remain true to canon. And those stories aren't what I'd call cute: I'd call them emotionally exhilerating, and complicated, and utterly memorable. And, yeah, sexy, but a term as simple as that kind of pales before all the more complex elements.
There is fic with consequences, and yes, I've heard the lore you mentioned.
Actually, when I first joined the fandom, most of the fic I found featured Aziraphale and Crowley thinking that if they had sex the angel would Fall. In some cases, it happened. In a few, it didn't.
I wrote a story that did the opposite- rather than boffing like bunnies and Aziraphale falling or thinking he would, Crowley sort of... unFell. Because he loved the angel and love is redeeming.
I'm hoping I'll be able to share the story when my laptop gets fixed.
I recall reading a short fic once where, after the first time they had sex, Aziraphale Fell and Crowley unFell. Very interesting. Ubnfortunately, I have no idea what it's called, or where to find it again... >_>
