Monday I took a long lunch and drove up to West Bend to pick up my artwork after an exhibition. Tuesday I had the event in the office and then a board meeting on Zoom in the evening. exhausted again
I had to be in the office at 8am on Tuesday and Wednesday for an event. That's an hour early. That doesn't sound like much, but that's always a little rough. Fortunately, I haven't been having trouble with insomnia. And it's not early enough to make me feel unwell ( Read more... ) -

I really wanted to get this shot, with the sun behind the low clouds over the lake. This was my only chance. First, because the sky was going to be clear this morning. Second, because I was going to be out of the house before 7:30, because of work (I don't usually get out of bed until that time). I've been going out two or three times a week to take photos of the lake. I've been wanting a sunrise shot for my collection, and winter is the time to do it, since the sun is coming up around 7:00, and not 5:00. Xmas again
Today we went to Christmas at my Dad's and stepmom's. They had an Irish theme for dinner - shepherd's pie with pickled beets and soda bread. I ate too much. I was doing OK until dessert when I wasn't given a choice of how much I would get. And followed that up with eggnog ( Read more... ) -
Christmas week
We had a free weekend - no plans at all. But the coming week will have some things happening. Monday we're driving to Madison to pick up Cindy's photos from her show at Photomidwest. Tuesday is Christmas Eve, so Heather and Greg are stopping by in the morning for an hour and a half on their way to spend the day with Greg's mother. Christmas with ( Read more... ) -
snow
We got about eight inches of fluffy yesterday. Last night I shoveled the front walk and about a car length of driveway, which was handy so we could back the car out of the garage to get the trash bin out. We got another inch overnight so I reshoveled all of that. Later in the evening I did the middle of the driveway. Then, just now, I did the end. ( Read more... ) -
my snowshovel doesn't cut it anymore
It served steadfastly for twenty-seven years, I think, but it's worn out. The steel edge wore though and came loose from the blade. This was the perfect shovel. I've had my eye out for a similar one for years, but they don't exist. This one has no name on it - the label wore off years ago ( Read more... ) -
oh, I'm tired
That's what my mom says when we ask her how she's doing. "Oh, I'm tired." She's been like that for twenty or thirty years. It seems I'm getting to that point. I've recently been having insomnia again. Sunday night I couldn't get to sleep. Probably got about five hours of sleep.
