Two tutorials

Two more tutorials (I'm on a roll lol). I tried to choose two icons that weren't made following the exact same "method" so that I didn't end up posting the same thing twice. The first one is not exactly an icon (tumblr art) but I had the PSD saved so it made my life a lot easier.

my bad, I have no idea how to work with curves (seriously, if I put the numbers the image look crap.) it's my problem, right?

I don't know that much about curves either, I just toy around with them lol.

Ok so when you put those Input/Output settings (I really should have put Output first so that people don't get confused because in PS it's Output first and Input second) do the curves look like that (just an example)?

Because I used to move only the initial two dots and that really screws up the image.
