It'd taken her time to get over there. She'd mustered the motivation, thrown a change of clothes into a bag. On the train ride over, she'd wondered if this made her weak. If this meant that she wasn't being strong or independent enough. She vaguely remembered taking comfort in Hikari's presence (over a year ago now and Hikari was dead and gone) - that had been just like this. There was nothing wrong. Minato was gone. Naoto was trapped in his - her, she reminded herself - home. And she didn't want to talk to Misato and pride would have prevented her, even if she'd wanted to.

She finally arrived outside Yukari's and she slowly raised her cellphone to her ear, listening to it dial and then ring, "Hey. It's me."

"Be right down," she answered, opening the door as she hung up. The practical things started to kick once she pushed the "down" button in the elevator. There was plenty to eat and loads of space and if push came to shove, they could order out. Hopefully, it'd be enough for a couple of days. Yukari huddled a bit more in her jacket when the wind hit her outside. Could nature make this situation even worse?

There she was. "Asuka!" She waved her over to the door.

Asuka huddled in her jacket as she waited for Yukari. This was miserable. Stupid weather just made her feel worse. She didn't want to think about any of it. Kaworu in a hospital bed, how the Hell she was supposed to take care of everything, how she was going to cope, how she was alone again and that last piece of her world was gone. First her mother, then Kaji, Hikari, Shinji and now Kaworu. Everyone left her. Nobody cared.

She was shaken out of her reverie by the sound of the door opening and Yukari's voice. For a moment it was a relief to see someone familiar and she breezed past Yukari and through the open door, trying to keep a smile on her face, "Hey, Yukari!"

She wasn't going to break down. She wouldn't let herself.

Yukari didn't miss Asuka's weak smile or casual air, and at that point she decided to let her be about the subject. The need to put forward normalcy in the midst of crisis was how some people dealed with it all. Yukari was one of those people. Pride and stubbornness did not combine well with grief as she well knew. Better to let the once Eva pilot come to terms in her own time and be there for her when the inevitable happened.

"Hey, Asuka," she answered calmly. "Hope you don't mind a guest bedroom."
