It hadn't been that long ago that she, Asuka, and Kaworu were celebrating Asuka's birthday. And now....
Yukari snapped her cell phone shut. Still no call. Maybe she had gotten lost or the trains were slow. Really, she didn't blame Asuka for taking her time. The weight of getting that look from the doctors, hearing their words, trying to figure out if what you were feeling was a shock or hurt so deep that you went numb all over. It took so much out of a person. You barely knew what day or time it was and you didn't care. She could still remember sitting alone in her room for hours without moving when Minato died.
Alone, huh? Yeah. Completely alone. She wasn't going to let Asuka go through any of that. Not if she could help it.
